Ass many of us are, I'm expecting a loss. Hey, look on the bright side, the rest of the season is a win-win situatuion, correct? If we just completely crap out, then we get a better pick. If we actually start to win, we could get to watch them playoff a playoff series.

3-1 loss. Kovalchuk loves the atmosphere inside the Garden and makes his agent call up Slats to tell him to make some cap space come July

Its a lose lose either way IMO. Sather will never recognize the fact that this team is "out of it" so what good will that do for the future? What good will another first round loss do for this team? A few more games of revenue? - Nah. This team is ****ed.

Couldn't have said it any better. I hate to want this team to lose, but the only way it improves is to sell off the likes of Prospal, Jokinen and Girardi for picks and to finish in the bottom 3/5 this season.

If they win tonight, does it really help...

I understand how a playoff series could be a loss. But how can a higher draft pick be a loss? Sather hasn't traded away any of our better prospects post-lockout (so far) to acquire a big name player.

We all know this team is ****ed, but all you can really do when your a fan of an organization who is struggling like the Rangers, is hope for the best.

Games against good teams remaining: 13

Devils: 3X
Flyers: 3X
Pens: 2X
Sabres: 2X
Caps: 1X
Preds: 1X
Sens: 1X

Games against average teams: 5

Lightning: 2X
Canadiens: 1 X
Panthers: 1X
Bruins: 1X

Games against sub-par teams: 6

Leafs: 2X
Isles: 2X
Thrashers: 1X
Blues: 1X

--------------------------------------

Say 90 points make the playoffs. They need 33 points in the last 24. They currently have 57 points in 58 games with a lighter schedule. What makes anyone think theyll get 33 at this point? Its going to be around 20-25 tops. Good for 77-82.

They have a .983 point percentage per game.
They'll need a 1.375 point percentage per game.

Uh, yeah. Not happening. Not against 13 Solid opponents who are all jockeying for better PO positions and division titles.

Flyers are still shaky IMO and the sabres have been on our level of awful when it comes to offense recently.Maybe miller finally came down to earth?

Group them anyway you want.

The point is this - The schedule isnt easy by any means.

They have a .983 point percentage per game thus far.
They'll need a 1.375 point percentage per game.

Nothing suggests theyll suddenly be a good team, jsut because of Olli Jokinen and whatever schmo's Sather brings in here next.

Sorry to be a downer guys. As a fan i have to hope for some losses going into the Olympic break. Its the only way well improve the future. Sather has to sell and the only possible way he does that is if its evident by the break its going to be a very tough task. I know weve come back and made a run each of the last few years, but not this one.

The rangers never make it easy you should know that by now

But who knows what can happen. For all we know a bunch of players can get injured during the olympics ,crippling their team and helping us out?

I'm no hoping for it or saying it will happen but i've seen crazier things.

True but the Rangers don't physically match up well against them.
Factor in too they have scored just 2 goals in 3 meetings.

To be fair, before this season the rangers actually shut down the flyers pretty well even with some shutouts here and there and the flyers still ended up 4th or 5th and high in GF.

But for those who still believe and are into trends - i leave you with this:

7-1 - to start the season
7-15-3 - fall back to earth
10-3-3 - against a weak schedule
3-9-1 - losing mire

Trends predict another line going in the upwards direction.

But over the next 12 games they only play 1 team out of the playoff picture. sorry.

What would it take for Sather to realize this team is out of it? Being last in the Conference?

And to Ranger fans at the Garden, enough with the "MAAARRRTTTY" chant........

The new one should be "UNCLE DADDY"

There's no better way to get into the playoffs than beatings teams that are standing infront of you.If you just beat bottom feeders the teams ahead of you will just beat them too and it won't solve anything. Now if they beat the teams ahead of them they go up a game and 2 pts.The oppurtunity is there lets see if they capitalize.
