Cal Clutterbuck

A perfect Brian Burke type player. I realize that he is pretty much untouchable, but realistically what would it take to pry him from minny. I think that he would look fantastic on a line with Kulie. Plus apparently I am related to him My cousin married a Clutterbuck and shes Cals cousin or something like that.

No flaming, just realistic trade proposals please

I saw him play against the Stars in person Tuesday night. He fought twice, and twice got a beat-down by Ott. I didn't see anything that jumped out at me that made me say, man I sure wish this guy was a Leaf.

Nah, he runs around and takes runs at guys and isn't very good at putting his money where his mouth is. If we're going to pick up an annoying guy for hitting and toughness, I'd rather Burke save his tradeable assets and see if Ott is available via Free Agency. He can put the puck in the net a little better than Clutterbuck and can answer the bell if necessary.

That said, I think Burke should be focussing on offensive skill players right now.

Don't need Clutterbuck. We need Zack Kassian.

Leads the NHL in hits doesn't he? I hear he's pretty popular over there in Minnesota, so I doubt he's going anywhere. But I wouldn't mind him on the Leafs.

He's from Welland too which is where I live.

Kassian is a bigger, less offensive version of Clutterbuck.

Any guy who takes a beating from Carlo Colaiacovo doesn't deserve to be on the Leafs.

Here's the sequence of events between Ott and Clutterbuck from the Stars/Wild game this week:

First fight:

Then this:

Man, you've got to love the way Ott stands up for Richards.

Ott is a difference-maker. He's always in the middle of everything. He has 11 goals and a whopping 190 hits so far this year. And I doubt if there's anyone who gets under the opposition's skin as much as him. I hope Burke lands this guy as a UFA.

He can use the money that would have gone to Ponikarovsky.

He is the exact ufa I hope Burke signs. This is what the leafs are missing. Did you happen to notice Clutterbuck didn't throw one punch in either fight? He almost got one punch thrown and that's it. I'd rather the guy that costs nothing but his salary then the guy we'd have to overpay for that offers less.

There is no way he has sold more than Gabs.
