So my wife told me on Thursday that I couldn't work past 10:00 this morning (I own my own business so Saturdays are always a work day for me) but she wouldn't tell me why. This morning she said "are you ready to find out why you can't work past ten?"
I of course assumed that it was because I had a list of chores at home a mile long but then she handed me 2 tickets to tonights game. Turns out she had been planning this since the day tickets went on sale. She found a sitter for the kids for the weekend, booked a hotel beside the arena and is packed and ready to go. I'm in Ontario (not far from where Richards and Pronger grew up) but the Wild are by far the closest NHL team to me at a 5 hour drive away. She's awesome. I can hardly wait. This will be my first Flyers game live since my buddies took me to Calgary to watch them lose to the Flames back in the Colin Forbes days.
Please Flyers win. Please. I have watched you live 5 times and all 5 you sucked it big time.
It's all a trick, dude. She tells you what to do, rewards you once you do it, and then the mental conditioning begins. Be on your guard.
Leino is expected to join the Flyers in Minnesota at some point today. It remains unclear whether he will be in the lineup tonight against the Wild (8:00 p.m. start).
Ray Emery will not start tonight due to "tightness in his left hip," from Paul Holmgren. Michael Leighton back in net. 3 minutes ago from UberTwitter
That eats the ****, just got that twitter as well. Who knows how serious it is. Thankfully there is the Olympic break coming up because hip injuries generally follow a goalie around all season.

The Flyers in the past as well show little tolerance for goalies who can't stay healthy. People ***** and complain about our training staff and not getting injuries diagnosed, but for the most part our goalies stay healthy.

That's awesome! Hope you get to see a win!!
Great job on the GDT, MSE. And with Falco on the watch, how can it be anything but good?
Damn man, Razor is starting to concern me. These injuries can build off each other. Really hope we can get a couple consecutive healthy months out of the guy.
Messed up my fantasy hockey, too, 'cause I missed a chance to start Rask in one pool and Halak in the other since I thought Ray would be between the pipes tonight. Rats.
Leighton versus a rookie; didn't work out too well last time.

Assuming Emery doesn't dress, the four goalies tonight will be Khudobin, Dubie, Leighton and Boucher. Emery, Harding and Backstrom out.
With the Flyers having Danny Carcillo and a bunch of guys who love to "run around", including captain Mike Richards (see David Booth and flying elbow at Eric Belanger's head in the preseason), either John Scott or Derek Boogaard (one morning skate since reaggravating his hamstring injury) will play tonight.
"One of them will be in for sure," Richards said. "Being with the Pittsburgh Penguins' organization for two years and living in Wilkes-Barre, you see a lot of the Flyers and how they play. I’ve witnessed firsthand games in Philadelphia, and it’s an element to their game. The one thing we have to do is not necessarily have to match them with it, but if they want to run around and do certain things, power play can be your toughness, too. If they have guys who are running around and they’re putting themselves in the box, we have to make them pay. That’s the easiest way to get guys to stop doing what they’re doing."
So just to be clear, a guy with injury history who hadn't played more than 40 games in either of the previous 2 years is having injury problems this year and apparently can't play more than 5 straight without getting hurt?
Who could have seen this coming?!?!?!
Oh wait....loads of people on this board. Shocking!
