He is what.. 27-28 years old? I really see no reason to trade Lundqvist unless a potential top 10 goalie comes back in the trade along with a young legit first/second line player also...
You cannot base lundqvist off stats and thats because of the system we play. Lundqvist is no doubt about it no questions asked a top 5 goalie in the nhl. Put lundqvist in a devils jersey in that system and he has a sub 2gaa

If the Rangers traded Lundqvist it would be a dark day for this franchise. I still can't believe Sather traded Leetch, what a ****er.

That would be...weird.

Which brings up an interesting question. If we traded our entire roster for the Devils entire roster, who do we root for?

Wouldn't you do it if it was for Hall or Seguin ?? I would think real hard before I said no.
I wouldn't consider this for a second. No way in hell would I trade a 27 year old top 5 goalie for a 35 year old who is statistically worsee this season, a maybe 40 pt physical player in Lucic and a a top 3 pick, which is statistically likely to give you a good player, but is never, ever set in stone.

We'd end up with our only starting goalie's retirement looming, another mediocre scorer and maybe one player for the future. Hank is a great player for the future right now. Not worth it.

No, that was Lundqvist Sux At Times tread. I am against trading Lundqvist. My idea was to force him to take those pills all the time so there would be no periodic letdowns..

Fair enough. Wonder what Bruins fans would say? Thomas isn't retiring anytime soon. I personally love Lucic as a player, and to add a Hall, Seguin or Fowler. I don't know. Tough call. In the end I agree, I'm leaning ever so slightly to no.

Even if you were to make a compelling case to trade Lundqvist in the name of getting better, which you can't, goalies rarely, if ever, bring as much back in trade as they should.

Boston turned down a Luongo for Joe Thornton swap way back when and the Panthers ended up taking Bertuzzi as equal value. Great goalies don't get traded very often and when they do it almost never makes their old club better.

Does this mean that we can't base any of the other Rangers players off stats either because they all play in that system?

The Great one was traded but hank can't be ?
Messier was traded but Hank can't be?
Tons of player far better have been traded and sometimes more then one time. Hank isn't the best player on the team either Gabby is. Trading him for anything less then a first line forward a 1-2 defensemen and a high prospect would be nuts. I am not for trading him for a crap package like we got for leetch.

Posted the trade on the Trade board. A Boston fan told me to get a life. I think they're not interested.

I dont think he'll be dealt, unless something like a Giguere situation comes along. No team is going to willingly downgrade at the Goaltender position.

No i said HENRIK LUNDQVIST for a reason. when you play the kind of system we do where we give up break aways and odd man rushes left and right the goalie faces a much tougher workload than for example a trap.
