One of the most annoying things I think is when someone is trying to be a dick and is like, "Oh what happened to the Rangers last night?" or something like that. And it's like dude, do I play for them? Do I coach them? Do I manage them? I have nothing to do with it so I can't tell you. Why are you trying to be a dick as if I should be taking this personally. I have nothing to do with it.

The other frustrating part with my friend I'm going with tonight is he's so spoiled with the Devils. He always messages me and stuff and lately he's been distraught about the Devils recent "slump".....I just send him back HAHAHAHAHAHA seriously man? Seriously?

It's actually pretty funny how much some people associate themselves with a team, when in reality what happens to that team has close to zero affect on your life and vice versa. I guess everyone does it to some extent at some point, some people more than others. But yeah, at the end of the day though whether your team wins or loses isn't going to help pay for your bills, cure your depression, or find you a job.

Also, I'm pretty sure when players win, for example, the Cup they aren't thinking about the fans. They might give a shout out for a brief moment or something, but after that they go out and party with their teammates and their families, not fans (unless you happen to be extremely connected or lucky)

In that way I think everyone who is a sports fan is a fool in many ways for wasting so much time and money on something that brings only superficial happiness. But damn, it's still really hard to live without sports

I hope Avery steamrolls Marty and pisses off Kovalchuk. That will be a win in my book for tonight.

I think this is going to be an Avery night.

I mean, who does he hate more than Kovalchuk and Brodeur?

Win or lose, let's hope it's entertaining. That's all we can ask for at this point in the season.

I remember towards the end of one of my Junior seasons a few years ago, once we were out of the playoffs the guys in the locker room would take bets on who could rack up the most penalty minutes in a game.

Agreed.

I've been a posetive one throughout the season, but with the way we have been playing since mid-January... I don't really give a **** anymore.
An entertaining game would be nice... and obviously a win too, but I'm not expecting much.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the Rangers win and win big.

I think this team has gained a bit of confidence the last few games and NJD is ripe for the pickins after the trade.

6-2

Rangers

Gabby 2g 2a

Yup, just give us 20 more losses and I'll be happy with this season. Getting Gabby over the summer and a top pick in April makes 2009-2010 a success in my eyes.

Nah, he only needs 8 more wins. We can lose 2 and win 1 the rest of the way and he'll get his 30. lol

I've felt this way since December... wins and losses don't mean much to me anymore.
I don't really expect anything, I just hope for an entertaining game.

The next time I actually get stressed out about this team will be on March 3rd.

Montreal won today. 62 points. 5 points up on the Rangers.

Debbies 4

Rangers 2

Gaborik with both goals. Rangers 0 for 6 on the PP.

Islanders beat Carolina

Thrashers make it to Atlanta for their game against FLA. Three point game with FLA winning in OT.

TB beats Calgary.

The Rangers find themselves tied for 13th with Atlanta by the end of tonight and tied for a top 5 lottery pick too.

I'm not getting why we should go for a "top 5-pick" Its not like a Ovechkin, a Malkin or a Kovalchuk will be availeble. This isnt a '03 or '08-draft coming up. Both this year and next year will be relatively weak classes.

Heck, a top 5 pick in a good class? A Pietrangelo or a Schenn wont turn this franchise around in YEARS, if they ever would.

We have found a very bad period of time to suck.

I think we will win too. Screw the devils...LGR all the way.

Looks like kovalchuk will be used to playing in a half empty arena, so it will be perfect for him.

The point is that a top 5 pick this year is likely to be a core player on this team in a couple of years. I'd rather have that than a first round exit in the playoffs and a pick that will take longer to develop and have less of a chance of ever making it at all, let alone being an impact player. Forget about this season...we're done. Start looking at next year and beyond.
