Our Final 23 Games

It's gonna be tough to make the playoffs this year. Out of every team in contention for the 5-8 spots we have played 3 more games then all of them.

The pattern the past few years with this team has been making the playoffs with around the mid-nineties in points.

I think we will need the same amount of points this year
2008-09 = 95 points
2007-08 = 97 points
2006-07 = 94 points

Lets assume 94 points gets us into the playoffs...

This is our schedule the rest of the way...
I think we must go 16-4-3 at least to get 93 points...Ouch

How do you guys predict these games will play out? Which are Wins? Losses? OTL's?

2/10- Predators @ Rangers
2/12- Rangers @ Penguins
2/14- Lightning @ Rangers

3/2 Rangers @ Senators
3/4 Penguins @ Rangers
3/6 Rangers @ Capitals
3/7 Sabres @ Rangers
3/10 Rangers @ Devils
3/12 Rangers @ Thrashers
3/14 Flyers @ Rangers
3/16 Canadiens @ Rangers
3/18 Blues @ Rangers
3/21 Rangers @ Bruins
3/24 Islanders @ Rangers
3/25 Rangers @ Devils
3/27 Rangers @ Maple Leafs
3/30 Rangers @ Islanders

4/2 Rangers @ Lightning
4/3 Rangers @ Panthers
4/6 Rangers @ Sabres
4/7 Maple Leafs @ Rangers
4/8 Flyers @ Rangers
4/11 Rangers @ Flyers

Very tough schedule...

2/10- Predators @ Rangers - WIN
2/12- Rangers @ Penguins - LOSS
2/14- Lightning @ Rangers - WIN

3/2 Rangers @ Senators - WIN
3/4 Penguins @ Rangers - LOSS
3/6 Rangers @ Capitals - LOSS
3/7 Sabres @ Rangers - LOSS
3/10 Rangers @ Devils - LOSS
3/12 Rangers @ Thrashers - WIN
3/14 Flyers @ Rangers - LOSS
3/16 Canadiens @ Rangers - WIN
3/18 Blues @ Rangers - LOSS
3/21 Rangers @ Bruins - LOSS
3/24 Islanders @ Rangers - LOSS
3/25 Rangers @ Devils - LOSS
3/27 Rangers @ Maple Leafs - WIN
3/30 Rangers @ Islanders - WIN

4/2 Rangers @ Lightning - LOSS
4/3 Rangers @ Panthers - WIN
4/6 Rangers @ Sabres - LOSS
4/7 Maple Leafs @ Rangers - LOSS
4/8 Flyers @ Rangers - WIN
4/11 Rangers @ Flyers - LOSS

this will be 9-14 the rest of the way which won't be good enough to get in. But this is tough because it is impossible to predict which games will be decided in overtime.

The Rangers will not go 3-7 for the rest of the season in their division. They'll end up stealing a few games here and there as well thanks to Hank and Gabby netting a few.

I think this team is about to put a streak of wins together. I predict all 3 remaining games before the olympics are wins for the Rangers. After the win against the Devils I think they're focused, playing hard, and having fun. When Chris Drury starts scoring nice goals it's a sign.

If we stand pat & don't make anymore changes at the Trade deadline think we have one more 5 or 6 game winning streak in us. After that I think we will be streaky the rest of the way.

I think we will finish in 10th place 2 or 3 points out of a playoff spot, not enough for the playoffs, not enough for the Lottery.

90 points will probably be enough to make the playoffs this year.

more competitive teams=lower point total to make it in.

okay to be fair the past 3 years the 8th seed on the eastern conference have entered the playoffs with

08-09 = 93 points
07-08 = 94 points
06-07 = 92 points

This year looks like 90-92 points will get you to the playoffs...so maybe 14-6-3 could get us in

I'd still look to be sellers at the trade deadline.

We don't have enough to get past the Caps, Pens, Devils, in a 7 game series.

Make smart moves, get some extra picks, retool for next year and the future.

I don't want to suck next year, but I also want all of our prospects.

So make smart acquisitions. Guys who can help win next year, at short term(1-2 year) cheap deals.

We are a bottom 10 team right now. After the deadline we could drop close to top 5.

This season is lost, no sense in hurting the future to try an foolishly save this season.

The Rangers are NOT getting 90+ points.

My guess is that they will finish 75-82 range.

Honestly, I hate doing predictions like this cause you just never know what could happen, especially with the Last 2 or 3 spots in the East being so wide open.

And you think this team, basically .500 thus far, is likely to play 8 games over .500 in their last 23? Doubtful imo.
