yes, Virginia, RW still rides the subway

nothing earth shattering...

but I just walked by Ron Wilson at BAY subway station...

about 4:11pm on the Bay St. entrance side...there is a collector booth on the left that is normally not open, and there is a turnstile which accepts tokens only...I was headed for that one...and he was right in front of it, back to me...and he swiveled right as I walked by him, about a foot away so I didn't notice him until I was by him...he was talking on a cell phone...wearing black pants, black leather jacket, and dark sunglasses...I could hear him say "Well, we're having a meeting right before the game and..." that's all I heard because I was then descending down the stairs...

no one was around...if it had been busy I may have slowed down a moment to hear him finish the sentence.

I know there was a thread about him and Burke or whoever and whether they rode or not...

where he was standing, he either just exited the subway or was about to go through the turnstile to get on the subway...

BAY station is in Yorkville, so maybe he lives there

Colour me disappointed.

This is accurate. He indeed rocks the leather jacket when he goes out. I sold him big screen TV's and mac's at Best Buy on Bay and Dundas, and this is how he was dressed then too. How boring.

I'm sure RW has ways to know he's being followed. His skills should be top notch.

he was born in Windsor, how do you expect him to dress? LOL

my gut feeling was he was talking about an Olympic meeting by phone...maybe right before the Superbowl, or the next Leaf game...

just a guess though.

if you're famous and riding the subway, you want to dress down and blend in...instead of dressing fruity like Vesa

last Leaf I saw around there was Rayzor...near the end of his time here...I almost collided with him walking...but I turned my head early enough to notice and veer right...he also wasn't looking ahead so I don't even think he noticed...which fit in with his poor goaltending actually LOL.

he was dressed in ratty jeans, old running shoes, ratty baseball hat...sweat shirt.

that was inside Indigo Books at Bay/Bloor.

I've seen Bill Watters twice near where I live. Once coming out of the Davisville subway station. I'm sure a lot of these guys ride the subway, it's the easiest way to get around downtown.

My guy feeling is that he's talking about an AA meeting. Last Sunday's trades have given him a reason to quit drinking.

Subway is probably the easiest way around, no matter who you are.
