We've been shut-out so many games. Guys like Plekanec, Gionta, Gomez, Cammy will get DESTROYED in the playoffs if we make it.

If Price wins against the Capitals, his confidence gets a HUGE boost.

If he gets lit up.....we all know how it's going to end.

The team played a good game, we just came across a hot goalie and a few bad bounces cost us.

Maybe we can put both goalies in the net against Ovechkin... Would that stop this monster?

yesterday was an aberration. we're going to be hardpressed to get goals with our 3 best goal scorers out (well gio is up there too), but the effort was great to see though. weird how halak tends to lose when we outshoot the other team.

Yes, I agree we did play better than the ruins overall, but who's going to score goals for us on a regular basis?

granted, when the team is on a roll (the caps that is, but still)

I remember the RDS headline: "surprise a washington"

The SAFER CHOICE is to start Price on the road away from the rabid fans.

Let Halak try Washington. If he gets lit up, so be it.

How many games this year have we had ALL of Plekanec, Gionta, Gomez, Cammalleri, Pouliot and Andrei Kostitsyn play?

Take away your two best snipers and one of your hottest players and a good chance you'll be hardpressed to score.

that's the thing, does price play? we can't throw him to wolves and then bench him for 3-4 games.
we should have played price today, and gave halak the automatic start against the caps.

I still think Halak should get the next game and be the number 1 guy until the end.

Price historically has done well against Washington. Even in the last game when he let in 4 goals against them, he still made 39 stops, a lot of highlight-reel type variety on odd-man rushes/breakaways.

However, is it fair to throw him to the wolves when he's rusty? I think it's safer to start him on the road.

Are the CBC guys that clueless? We dominate Boston and they score 3 lucky goals and the announcers are praising their play...WTF?? Your goalie basically steals you a win and you get 3 lucky goals but you won because you played well...riiigghhttt

We have three games before the Olympic break and after the break we'll have Pouliot and A. Kostitsyn back.

So hopefully we don't lose anyone else and can have a top 6 of:

Kostitsyn - Pleks - Kostitsyn
Pouliot - Gomez - Gionta

Oh, have no fear -- Jack Martin will indeed throw Price to the wolves. Then, after the loss, he'll let Price ride the pines for another 5 or 6 games. Martin has no game plan. I mean, come on -- Win & You're In? Hardly Bowmanville.

Personally, I think Jack Martin has done an ABYSMAL job and should be hand-delivered his walking papers the moment the final buzzer goes on the last game of the season.

I agree.
Even though Halak wasn't that busy yesterday, maybe he shouldn't have started today. Price was rested and he could've picked up the win. But, that's the problem. If Price won today, he would autimatically start the next game, and then Halak would be benched without doing anything wrong. If you play Price vs the Caps, you are taking a HUGE risk. I think Halak vs Caps makes the most sense and start Price against the Flyers on the road no matter what....this is where the goaltending problem becomes apparent.

We have 3 games next week, if im not mistaken. We need 2 wins. I'm hoping for us to go 2-0-1, but we're going to need both goaltenders to be at the top of their game.

that was my preference, also cuz I think Halak needed a break. I think Halak will start in washington for sure. If it's Price, huge JM fail.

One thing ive noticed...people don't go high on Halak off the first shot that often. he makes great pad saves, but all the "horrible Price goals" have been usually top corner zingers. Odd how no one has tried that on a smaller goalie.

I think even if Price won today, it would be Halak against washingston, cuz he is now playing the #1 role, not win and you're in.

also next week, if we can beat Philly in regulation twice, it will help our cause more than just 2 wins out of three games. Then again, that's the only way to get two wins.

He can be taken off the IR at the earliest on Friday, he'll probably play next weekend but I was just talking about how we'll look after the Olympic break.
