2 days is way too early....but I'll let it stay because the game could get postponed due to a potential for a huge snow storm to hit NYC Wed into Wed Night.

So all talk about the Snow and Potential postponement of the game can go here.

Our game should be okay, the Preds should be into NY tomorrow, play in LI, then head into the city. The Isles have to go to Pittsburgh, they might actually have to postpone that one.

How generous

But seriously, didn't we have a supposed storm two days ago haha?

preds are probably staying in nyc for the duration of the trip, no reason why this game would be cancelled, how much snow are we supposed to get anyways?

I've heard everything from a "slight covering" to TEN inches. After the last no-show by what was supposed to be a snowstorm a few days ago, I don't really know what to believe. The weather maps all seem consistent though so... who knows?

This strom will hit us pretty much definite...most are saying 8-12 inches.

A Winter Storm Watch should be issued for our area in the next few hours, and a Storm Warning to follow late tonight or early tomorrow.

edit - wow, that was a pretty freaky....they just issued the Storm Watch 10 seconds after posting this

Quote:
Significant Snowfall Likely Tuesday Night Into Wednesday Night...

The Potential For 6 To 12 Inches Of Snow Exists. At This Time The
Higher Amounts Are Expected Across The New York City Metropolitan
Area And Long Island.

As The Storm Intensifies... East To Northeast Winds Will Become
Strong And Gusty During The Day On Wednesday. This Will Cause
Blowing And Drifting Of Snow... With Near Blizzard Conditions
Possible.

Monmouth County already has a watch. We're likely getting over a foot, from what I've read. Accu-Weather's video said it's exploding basically right over Monmouth so we have the potential for much more.

You guys weren't expected to get more than an inch or two with the last snow storm. It was a southern storm the whole time.

Question to all who frequently attend home games: I haven't been to a game in a long time let's just say, and my brother attended the Devils game the other night. He said that people were shouting during the National Anthem, but it wasn't the random "lets go rangers" during the song, but he said it was a more organized thing.

So, my question is, what did he hear?

South Jersey seems to be the snow capital of the eastern seaboard this year. You can keep it.

It was Lets Go Rangers

Thats what people said in February of '78, and then we got absolutely hammered.

He heard lets go rangers but it is timed out so that a lot of fans scream together at the same time. Thats why it sounds organized.

Yeah, I'm against the existence of such an early GDT, but if it allows me a forum to post the following, I guess I can deal with it:

from newjerseyweather.com:

Quote:
02/08/2010...AM Update...With the storm only about 36 hours away, several of the most reliable computer models have been consistently indicating a foot or more of snow over much of New Jersey...Including the NYC and Philadelphia metropolitan areas during the Tuesday Night & Wednesday timeframe. It's quite rare to have a majority agreement with such a compact but powerful Nor'easter that'll affect the entire area. With typical Nor'easters, the heaviest band of precipitation is usually spread out over several hundred miles...But with this one it'll only be spread out in a 100 to 150 mile radius...and our area just happens to be in the bullseye that should get the most. At this time, it's looking like a lot of snow could come down in a short amount of time. With the heaviest falling during the overnight hours of Tuesday and into Wednesday Morning. THUNDERSNOW is even a possibility. If it appears there's been a major track shift with today's models, we'll post an update. Otherwise, the next discussion update with accumulations will be early tomorrow morning. Also, stay current with your latest local forecast from the National Weather Service as this could be quite a significant event.
THUNDERSNOW! Hahahahaha, I'm really excited for this now.
