I have to say it's an odd move, though. White is intense, he even fought. Trotter had great chemistry with Desharnais.
They should have sent Maxwell down instead.
Trotter was lost defensively, White did absolutely nothing EXCEPT for his hit on Malkin and subsequent fight. Desharnais was the most impressive of the three Dogs Saturday and the least unimpressive Sunday. He is worth another look.
I agree that Maxwell hasn't shown much yet, but he is an offensive player, White isn't really. They still need some offense but the player needs to be better defensively than Trotter is.....so far.
Pyatt is a different matter. Tom is a shutdown-type player with more speed than anyone in Hamilton (or most NHLers for that matter) and will probably be tasked to help shut down the Caps. He did it once before, you know, and we won that game.
White will be back as soon as they find a taker for Dags.
Actually, you may be right. D'Agostini may be being showcased a bit. It's easier to get something for a player when the trading partner can't say, "but he has been a healthy scratch the last 5 games"!

You can showcase a pile of crap as much as you want, but it won't become art.
Some people need to relax here. I myself am perplexed about this day and find it hard to believe that Gauthier is our new GM for years to come, but Trotter and White being sent down will not make this team worse by any means...I think we got too "attached" to Trotter,White and Desjardins after saturday's game, forgetting that they were only temporary call ups and nothing more than that.
I mean, I saw people talking about Bergeron not having his spot on the team anymore which I think is absolutely absurd come to the fact that we need the most goals we can get and he brings exactly that.
In HFBoards we seem to always despise the veteran presence when a young prospect/rookie is having a nice stretch and we forget the intangible that the veteran brings to the team.
I am happy for Desharnais; disappointed for White. I am a huge fan of White and I can't wait to see the following 4th (3b) line: Darche – Lapierre – White!
That being mentioned... my GAWD... how many lives does D'Agostini have?

I agree but they sent Trotter and White down to make room for D'Agostini and Pyatt. Bergeron is on IR so he won't be eligible for the next game no matter what his condition is.

Im a little perplexed myself. I thought those were 2 of the better Dog call ups. Maxwell and DD should have been sent down imo as Trotter and White seemed to bring a lot of energy imo.
I'd really like to know what's behind sending white back down to Hamilton.
From what I saw, the kid did everything you could want from a 4th liner (regardless of age), he was playing effectively, so i don't really see why he gets demoted... i hope they gave him a solid explanation because he must be at least a little disappointed.
happy to see Pyatt gets called up he really impressed me and showed tons of potential. dont underrstand why white or trotter being sent down instead of Maxwell . anyways most of those guys will be recalled after the trade deadline when theres no roster size max if im not mistaken
While White's physical play and intensity were quite impressive, he did make two bonehead plays in the defensive zone that could have resulted in goals. Against Pittsburgh, he did a no-look pass just before leaving the zone which resulted in a turnover. In his other game, he tried a fancy pass in the middle instead of simply clearing the puck along the boards. Obviously, he's still young and I really like his potential, but you simply can't make these kind of plays when you're a 4th liner.

The Bulldogs are going for the cup this year, they'll need some players too.

The only thing he brought was a physical game, defensively or offensively he didn't do anything.
