Holmgren has given not one, but two 2nd round picks just to be rid of players. I'm sure he's not sweating a 5th, plus Leino is signed for next year, so they'll either get something else or he'll get his chance eventially.

This is only the 3rd game he has been with the club, and we won last game, so why would Laviolette change his roster? An injury will happen or the team will need a mix up at some point throughout the season, and he will get his chance then.

I'm happy with him. Definitely overachieved in what I expected out of him. And the team seems to win when he's in.

Shoot the puck more, hope the players noticed that even Brodeur lets in some sloppies every now and then, and those goals count too. See JvR's goal last game.

When playing the corner rotation, someone could just throw the puck towards the net with 1-3 guys crashing the crease, good things will happen.

Win it guys, go Flyers!

I am skeptical. The I-95 corridor is a disaster area and the blizzard conditions haven't even arrived yet.

The Flyers are there, I'd assume the Devils are in position themselves. The game will be played.

I don't think they're getting as much snow as us, are they?

I do not think they will play tonight...

3 inches per hour type of snow.

Working from home today and I will be getting ****ed up right after 4pm. I have alcohol, food and water for the next month. So bring it on.

Both teams are there (supposedly). The only question, earlier, was the arrival of the referees. In any event, that shouldn't be an issue to get replacement refs in New Jersey (long ago PO sarcastic reference).

Can we go with out refs? That would be fun.

Just looked at the goal differential for out team and compared it to the teams in the East. Looking at it, it's very surprising that we're at where we're at. Every other fringe team around is has a negative differential. TB, who has 6th, has a -17 differential. Montreal, at 7th, has a -8 differential. Boston, at 9th, has -7. We have +13...and we're at 8th. The Sens are even yet they're a pretty large distance ahead. We have the same differential as Buffalo, we're only 3 behind Pittsburgh, and 6 behind NJ.

From NJ.com:

http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2...er_nj_dev.html

Quote:
As far as Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello is concerned, Wednesday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers at the Prudential Center is on.

But it won't be Lamoriello's call.

"Right now everything is as scheduled," Lamoriello said at 9 a.m. Wednesday from his office at the Rock. "The league gets involved with these matters."

Lamoriello said he had "no problem" getting to the arena, but knows the forecast sounds ominous for the rest of the day.

"I'm not a weatherman," the GM said. "We've gone through this before where the forecast says one thing and it turns out to be different."

The Devils cancelled their morning skate a day early, but would expect players to be able to get to the arena for the game.

As for the Flyers, their equipment arrived at the Prudential Center around 3 p.m. Tuesday and Lamoriello said the team also came in a day ahead.

NHL on-ice officials are also in New Jersey, so that is not a concern. As of 11:30 a.m., it appeared more likely that the game will be played. A cancellation would have to come from commissioner Gary Bettman.

Our losses this year have really not been blow outs. They are usually one or two goal games.

I hope they don't cancel this game due to snow. Nobody goes to devils games anyway in Newark.

So, no Emery despite Holmgren saying he would start.

No problem there.

We still played like crap for more than half of the last game. Like I said before if someone underperforms tonight, they need to be benched and Leino gets a shot. These games are very important ones for the season.
