Favorite Team(s): The Flyers! in the West, i kind of like vancouver since luongo has done good things for my fantasy team. here in the east, because of my location, the Caps become my backup team, but only if they arent playing the flyers, in which case they can die.
Most Hated Team(s): Devils, Pens...kind of apathetic towards the rest.
Favorite Player(s): Giroux, Recchi, Leclair, Carcillo (recently), Lappy. Ive always liked Kimmo as well. Ovechkin.
Most Hated Player(s): Stevens, Malkin, Crosby, any goaltender not playing for philly.
Flyers fan since: as long as i can remember. my parents are from philly, and thats where most of my family still is. Plus if im not mistaken, the Richmond Renegades were once affiliated with the Flyers?

The Richmond Robins (AHL) were a Flyers' affiliate during the Cup years. A few Flyers (Dave Schultz for instance) played there in the 1970s. The Richmond Renegades were in the ECHL in the 90s and beyond but to my knowledge they didn't have a direct link to the Flyers.

see, i knew about the robins, but ive always been unsure of the renegades. the philly phanatic used to come to gades games, though, and every year his feud with the zamboni driver got increasingly bitter.

Then, he sued the Flyers for a mmmmmmmmmillion dollars because he said he deserved a playoff share which was around $25k, but he didn't get it (based on games played).
In his first year with Washington, he went winless in something like 28 games.

I feel - chest-thumping aside - every hockey fan has some insight, or at least an opinion worth considering, regardless of youth. As for the note above about not having favorite players, that's not entirely accurate. Hank Aaron was, and is, the only true sports hero I have ever had.

I agree completely. We have a lot of fun on this board, and it's been an ongoing joke of the youth vs we who have a few years on us!
I think we have a great group of posters - some great debates, amazing photoshoppers, some very funny people, and the best Game Day Threads on HF.
