Brashear wants out-asked to be traded (Update: Reported to Hartford/Played game)

Quote:
Donald Brashear was a healthy scratch for the sixth straight game Wednesday and the 11th time in the last 12 games. The underused enforcer believes the inactivity is due to his requesting a trade.

"It just shows me they donít believe in me," Brashear told The Record. "I ask for a trade, thatís more likely why Iím not playing any games. Usually, when you ask for a trade, they donít play you."
Quote:
"At the same time, I donít really understand what they expect," said Brashear, who injured his hand early in the season and recently had a hamstring issue. "Do they want a showman like they had in Orr or do they want a guy that can play and fight?"
http://www.northjersey.com/sports/pr...bout_role.html

Brashear is his own agent. If he wants out so bad, mutually terminate the contract right now and he can become a free agent. Brashear has made most of his $1.5 million salary for this season and forfeit the $1.3 million for next season. Sign a contract with another NHL team.

No, we want a player that PLAYS and actually FIGHTS and that's exactly why you don't play, huggy bear.

Wow, I didn't think it was possible to hate this guy any more. This guy is treading on most-hated player of all-time territory.

No way Brashear mutually terminates the contract. He's on his last contract right now. He's done. He won't get signed if he goes back to FA.

I think it's safe to say that the talks with Florida involve Brashear.

Petr Sykora was miserable in Minnesota. His agent Allan Walsh and Wild GM Chuck Fletcher agreed to terminate his contract. Sykora was on the verge of signing a contract with another NHL team but decided to undergo season ending abdominal surgery. Three teams wanted to sign him.Phoenix was one of the teams looking at signing him. Don Maloney connection with the Rangers. Point is Sykora has a terrible relationship with Wild HC Todd Richards and his agent got him out of there. If Brashear wants out so bad, tell Slats to terminate the contract and then Huggy can go fight and play hockey with another team.

What talks with Florida? According to McKenzie, the teams haven't talked deals.

Hated that mother****er since he was a Hab. Didn't stop when he became a Ranger. tried to keep an open mind this season, but seeing that his fighting skills have deteriorated and he skates like he is in mud closed the deal for me.

Funny though as much as I dislike the guy, I thought he was pretty effective last season for the Caps. He actually had the ability to get in on the forecheck and lay some hard hits on opposing d-men. Now he looks like he is skating with 50lbs of weights tied into his pants.

That this useless sack of meat wants to be traded is almost comical. Someone needs to watch some tape of himself.

That's it Huggy, bring Orr up whilst you're at it. Call him a showman all you want, but i'd take him over your sorry ass every day of the week.

Our only hope might be loaning him to the KHL or something. That would get him off the books, right?

When Voros is beating you out for a roster spot as an enforcer its time to hang em up.

Nothing against Voros, hes a good hard worker, he just isnt known as a #1 fighter guy like Brashear.

I am not even going to hate on him right now. Everyone knew he was a bad signing, yet the guy who gets paid to make these decisions didnt know that.

Disgrace.

I'd love to see a statistic about teams that end up demoting, not playing, or trading away players that they sign or trade for. We have to be on top of that list.

Off the top of my head:
Scott Gomez
Chris Higgins
Ales Kotalik
Patrick Rissmiller
Aaron Ward
Aaron Voros
Matt Cullen
Darius Kasparaitis

I'm sure there's more I'm just not thinking of right now, but you get the picture.

I really hate this guy. I would waive him and let him finish his career in the AHL. He can protect Redden down there. Was there any reason to take a backhanded swipe at Orr? Orr was a warrior for this team, did his job and kept his mouth shut.

We should keep signing UFA's, it is working out great. We are operating at about a 10% success rate when it comes to UFA's. It is amazing the sense of entitlement these guys have.
