Brashear Demands Trade, Rangers put him on waivers
"It just shows me they don’t believe in me," Brashear told The Record. "I ask for a trade, that’s more likely why I’m not playing any games. Usually, when you ask for a trade, they don’t play you."
He asked for a trade, which is understandable. Whats with the stuff about demanding a trade? Rangers would probably get a bag of pucks for him, but I bet someone would take him and then at least Sather would be able to erase yet another bad FA signing.
If any team does, then they better not acquire Brashear, because he sure as hell isn't a goon anymore.
No joke, the two best moments Brashear has had in a Rangers uniform is scoring a goal in preseason and getting a few decent punches in on Colton Orr in one fight. That's it. He can't do anything relevant to hockey and "fights" by hugging his opponent and hoping to throw him down to the ice. The guy is officially more worthless than Ryan Hollweg, and that's saying a lot.
And now Brashear has been put on waivers. This is a win-win for me. If he gets claimed then he and his garbage contract get to go elsewhere. If he doesn't then I get to enjoy the fact that Donald Brashear is sitting somewhere realizing that he sucks so much that nobody was willing to take him for free.
I would love him back in DC. He was a great guy to have in the room and all the guys liked and respected him. He even wore the A on his sweater so you know Bruce trusted him.
He was a great forechecker and he made opposing dman hear footsteps when he was on the ice. It seemed like he enjoyed playing in DC and Bruce was able to get the best out of him. With a aggressive forechecking team like the caps he does well.
With Nylander of the books i think the caps might squeeze him in after they get their other priorities taken care of.
Would NY trade him for a 5th? You guys get something out of it and we take some salary of your book while getting back a great fourth line player.
