That's re-entry waivers, I believe.

With Nylander of the books i think the caps might squeeze him in after they get their other priorities taken care of.

Would NY trade him for a 5th? You guys get something out of it and we take some salary of your book while getting back a great fourth line player.
Are you talking about Brashear or Eric Lindros? I've never seen the word "great" ascribed to this guy so many times in one post.

Can you guys really blame Brash?

He is getting old and he got one last sweet contract.

Blame Sather if anyone for signing him. After all the hate NY had for Brash after the Betts hit last year i couldn't believe Sather signed him. I get the impression that Betts was a well liked guy in the Rangers room so it must have been really weird to have Brash in the NY lockerroom.

What the hell was Sather thinking signing him.?
That said i would love him back in DC.

Ah Donald. You had two good years of being a goon in Vancouver before you decided fighting wasn't your thing and that you could score.

I never liked him because we lost Gino due to Donald, but at least the first little while he was a good fighter. When he stopped fighting he was pretty useless to us. He also got into hugging. That seemed far more entertaining for him than actually fighting. He also always seemed on the edge of hating our management. One funny story:

Skills contest, hardest shot contest. Adrian Aucoin was the usual winner for the Canucks, but he had been traded that year. Donald wins the contest and the guy on the ice goes to interview him and Donald just shuts his questions down and goes "They traded Adrian thats why I won" then skates off.

He also died his sideburns blue once.

My atom team needs its bag of pucks more than it needs Don Brashear. pass.

Hell, I think half the NY fan base would be happy getting a bag of pucks in return. If not at least a whine burger. Or some french cries.

Brash was very effective in his two year stint with the Caps. The only time i can remember where he cost the team was that Boston game a few years ago.

Other then that he was a great forchecker and he made his presence known on the ice everytime he went out with a big hit on the opposing dman.

It's not just about him "getting old." It's his attitude throughout the whole thing. Markus Naslund "got old" and was a shell of his former self during the second half of last season, yet Ranger fans have nothing but great things to say about him. Why? Because he still gave it his all, he didn't complain about anything, and showed nothing but respect to the organization. Brashear comes in here at the tail end of what was hardly a remarkable career, plays like absolute garbage, demands a trade, and then acts like the organization owes him anything.

Didn't he have a pretty good offensive year with the canucks a while ago?

I always thought he could play the game. It seems like he was pigeonholed into the role of a goon when he played junior. Which is a shame.

Waivers? About freaking time. What an embarrassment (among many) to the Rangers jersey.

First Laraque now Brashear, its racism I tells ya! JK, in all seriousness the days of aging goons is rapidly coming to a close or a the very least a minimum requirement of being able to skate...
