I think Dean knew that he was going to get picked up.

Oh well, if anything it sucks for Manchester. He was useful but he's also pretty much been a career minor leaguer and he was signed to provide some depth but more so to provide Manchester with some leadership and scoring punch.

Good for him. I'll miss getting to say "Lawman" about 5 times a game but I'm happy the guy will get shot with another team if he isn't in LA's plans.

Now let's get the info on that trade or just assign Clune to the big club now so I can see him stir it up tonight.

Now that we have an open roster spot the question is, Does Clune get called up or is there a trade to be announced?

I am in El Segundo and will be heading over to check out the practice today. I'll report back if i see a new face.

Brashear is on waivers. I pray to anything up above that we don't pick him up.

With Edmonton in town, my speculation is that Ethan Moreau #18 LW will be wearing changing lockers rooms very soon to take the spot of the left wing of the 4th line during the playoffs. No way Ivanans steps foot on the ice during a Cup run.

Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys could give me an idea of what kind of player we are getting in Segal. I don't expect anything other than a 4th liner, but I'm hoping he has some kind of skills that will make Crawford use him instead of Krys "Waste of Space" Barch.

Barch is a way better fighter...Segal is a skilled guy in the AHL that happens to have NHL light heavyweight size and speed...so in the NHL he is a checker who can cycle down low and in the AHL he is a goal scorer...he should fight more with his size, but it doesn't seem like his personality.

Don't expect much of an upgrade over Krys Barch. Segal is your prototypical fourth line guy who gives an honest effort but really doesn't provide much else out there. A dime a dozen grinder.

He is big, he will fight but sucks at it and a decent 4th line player. He was actually playing on the Kings 3rd line at times too.

Barch is your Ivanans, no?

Segal would be more along the lines of an Ott who hasn't finally come into his own like Ott has.

plays his role well, good on his angles with the body on the forecheck... knows where to be. scored his first goal this season - limited skill... lotta energy.

Well if he can stay on his skates and not manage to fall down nearly every shift he'll already be an upgrade. I think the biggest part of his addition is that he is a Right shot, something we are severely lacking on the team and within the organization.

And could you sing this song before you claimed Segal? I think not
Quote:
Over rocks and trees and sand
Soaring over cliffs
And gently floating down to land
She proudly lifts her voice
To sound her mating call
And soon her mate responds by singing
Caw Caw Caw
Come with me

Lesbian Seagull

Settle down and rest with me

Fly with me lesbian seagull

To my little nest by the sea
With me that's where you belong with me
I know I can be strong when you're with me
She skims the water
At the new time to seek
Her fish and she emerges
With one squirming in her beak

She plays among the waves
And hides between the swells
She walks the beach at twilight

Searching for some shells
Come with me

Lesbian Seagull

Settle down and rest with me

Oh fly with me lesbian seagull

To my little nest by the sea

With me that's where you belong with me
I know I can be strong when you're -- you're with me

And in the evening
As they watch the setting sun
She loooks at her as if to say
The day is done
It's time to find their shelter

Hidden in the dunes

And fall asleep the
Music of the moon
You and me

Lesbian seagull

You just watch the world oh my

Just you and me lesbian seagull

Side by side with me 'till we die
('Till we die)
You and I
We can make it if we try
Our love will keep us flyin' high

Until we die...

I think Oscar fell to Dean, he felt he was best player available or would make the best NHL'er at that point (however some want to word it) and took him.
I would say Hickey is the odd man out, honestly.

I agree with this. Hickey was drafted prior to Doughty; Teubert was drafted because of Doughty.

Just think how much better off we'd be with both Doughty AND Myers.
I think when you look at that draft, the pick off Doughty turned out to be so great that we have all been willing to overlook the choice of Tuebert over Myers!
