Russia's top 6 are going to shine, this should lead to the NHL returning to the Olympics in 2014 because if they don't I think they will have a Russian mutiny on their hand which they just can't afford.

I think Canada is going to buckle under the pressure and the Swede's have an advantage in their pool to be fresher come the medal rounds. Canada will finish 4th. The Czech's never get the respect they deserve and they might not have Hasek to steal games for them anymore their depth is unheralded and should be tought to play against.

I like the US team but I think they are too young and it will show but if Burke does the right thing and plays Quick over Miller it could be a different story.

Any combination of Sweden, Canada, Russia doesn't seem likely to me as things rarely go exactly as planned. There will be upsets. Ask any sports better.

Canada, they are due and have too much talent
Sweden, always seems more of a team that works well together
USA, Miller carries the team to the bronze

Russia just loses the bronze

I've been thinking about this for the last few days.
1canada
2Russia
3Sweden

or

1Sweden
2Canada
3Finland

1Russia
2canada
3sweden

I think my top option is the more popular options, its just when i really sit down and dwell on it; I have these Ren and Stimpy moments were ren is yelling stumpy you idiot what about Finland...

I kind of agree with you here. Canada is the overwhelming favorite. But, I think they have so much talent that the team will come through. The Swede's definitely have an advantage. Plus they do have some winning experience returning. I wonder if Lundqvist will stand on his head again?

1. Sweden
2. Canada
3. USA

Russia 4th
Finland 5th

A North American here rooting for the US (and Canada secondly) here but my honest opinion....

Sweden has so much balance and so much Stanley cup experience (esp. if Nik Kronwall is healthy)
and the best goalie in the NHL that noone talks about ('cause he play for my sucky Rangers!). The chemistry with the Sedin twins and Lidstrom on D.... How can you pick against 'em????

Canada has Crosby (I hate him since I'm a Ranger fan ... very jealous you see). That's all you really need to know... he's friggin awesome. But then there's also Brodeur.... and Pronger et al . As a Ranger fan however, I've seen "The King" outplay Marty plenty of times and combined with that Red Wing cup experience I think Canada comes up just a little short . Plus all the pressure Canada will have on it might tighten their sphincters.

US will frustrate Russia in the Bronze medal game with their attention to defense, Miller in goal and their opportunistic quick strike scoring - taking advantage of Russia's weakness on D.

Russia just seems like it doesn't have enough on D or in goal (Nabokov has proved nothing in the NHL thus far) to go the distance.

Finland has to be mentioned because they are a true live darkhorse in this tournament. Strong NHL talent throughout the lineup (Koivus, Jokkinen, Selanne up front etc - solid D) and a great roster of goaltenders. If they gel as a team they could easily win gold.

It's gonna fun watching all this play out : )

You're right, Czechoslovakia was split in 1993 but my guess is that it was only shadows way to say it could be Czechs or Slovaks that make the second place. Right?
