Just think how much better off we'd be with both Doughty AND Myers.
I think when you look at that draft, the pick off Doughty turned out to be so great that we have all been willing to overlook the choice of Tuebert over Myers!
Teubert may just be a late bloomer.
The kid's got good size and toughness. Let's hope he can put it all together in a couple of seasons at manchester.

Meh. I haven't overlooked it. I was yelling Myers at my T.V. when the pick was made But what are you going to do about it now? Just have to ride it out and hope that Tuebert turns into Robyn Regehr and we get good value out of the pick.

I'm gonna hope for a Scott Stevens but I'll be content with Regehr.
DL does his homework. I think often times that leads to him drafting a Canadian or American, but he knows when a kid's head and heart are in the right place. He's not drafting people to trade them. If he were inherently biased against Euros, he wouldn't take them in the first place.
I know you're half joking, but to think DL is looking down the roster and going "How the hell did this 15-year-old Swede get here? Begone!" is a little shortsighted.
We are talking about trading players that do not fit into the mold that DL is looking for. Right now Moller has the most amount of value of all those, without losing focus on the core of players he wants to keep. That is the only reason I think he would be moved. Not because he is a meatball lover. Its just my opinion......if he sticks around great, and I will gladly say that I was wrong. However I think my racial and prejudice profiling is spot on!

I see where you coming from but I truely think that The Kings pipeline is short on NHL ready puck moving Dman.
Randy Jones was brought in because of it. Who knows how long Johnson will be around.
Other than Doughty, we really do not have any Dman who score consistantly. If Doughty were to go down right now, this blueline would be even more enimic.......Developing Hickey is very important to the future of this team

Lombardi has also said that one of his favorite lines he ever assembled was when he had Niklas Sundstrom with Mike Ricci and Scott Thornton. Thinking that Dean Lombardi would trade Moller just because he is European is short sighted, ignorant and out-right dumb comment to make. Unless you were being facetious...
Judging from the comments of Lombardi.......the guy is full of smokescreens and says things he shouldnt.
Time have changed since Lombardi was in San Jose. The average players are bigger, stronger and faster.
Regardless if he grew up playing in NA, he is an undersized player, who at this stage in his development, is not a Marty St Louis with the puck, nor a finesse player that finds himself scoring which puts him on the 3rd and 4th lines which by design is for bangers, which he is not.
I like Oscar, his wooden shoes, and all.....however, I just dont think he fits in and will never have a roll on this team.
Seriously. I love how people here have already given up on Teubert....
NOT GIVING UP on Tuebert at all, but I think the obvious choice when the pick was made was Myers. And for all those who swear by DL's drafting prowess, I think a BIG mistake was made taking Tuebert over Myers...Myers could be the next Chara. Tuebert could be the next Greene.

Who would you pick? I know who I would.
This is always talked about but Myers game doesn't resemble Chara. He's a soft, puck mover with Chara like size. With the plethora of puck movers in the system, I can see why DL and staff selected Teubert....

And now Meyers was the obvious pick. Unreal.
Please go back to calling DL the shill and leave the scouting critiques to other posters.
Oh well, if anything it sucks for Manchester. He was useful but he's also pretty much been a career minor leaguer and he was signed to provide some depth but more so to provide Manchester with some leadership and scoring punch.
Couldn't agree more, the Monarchs really could have used Segal back in Manchester.

I admit it, I'm not real hopeful that's he is going to become a top 4 dman. Unless he listens to DL and company about harnessing that "toughness", he could become a once was like so many before him. I'm not sold on his mellon being able to understand the NHL game. But ya, I guess I'm one that doesn't have much faith in his future in the NHL. I hope I'm wrong and I'll admit that too.
