Not that way I want it to end up.

Gold--USA--youth-speed-Miller.
Silver--Russia-3 of the top 5 players in the world.
Bronze--Sweden-above average at most positions.
4th--Canada

Who's the third Russian? I know Malkin and Ovechkin. Pllease not Kovalchuk

Though I have a feeling Canada or Russia will be upset by Finland/USA/Slovakia/Czech Republic.

1. Russia
2. Finland
3. Sweden
4. Canada

Russia has top forwards, very good goalies and they can now play really as a team
Silver is the color of Finnish lions
Swedes lose to Russia in semis and beat Canada in bronze game
Canada fails to get the players to play well as a team

I removed the part of Russians being paycheque players because I thought upon reflection that it was inflammatory.

You bring up an interesting point though. I didn't know that.

Russias offence should make them the team to beat this year IMO.
Their D is junk. Unless their goalies stand on their heads, they're toast.

Canada will win gold. Russia may match/surpass them slightly for top offense, but they don't have Canada's depth. Sweden will lack the offensive punch that Canada/Russia have and will get bronze or fall just short of a medal.

My two cents.

but as longer as I think of it it comes to my mind that the Canadiens wont give a damn if they aren`t in the final so they are replaceble with USA/FIN

Canada won't care if they aren't in the final? Well, that's the most ignorant thing I've heard all week.

maybe, but they would be so f***ing frustrated if they would lose the semi-finals that I dont think they give the 110% they need in the game for Bronze...
and the game for gold at the wc2008 comes in my mind: I was cheering for Canada but after two they played if they wouldn`t care anymore...I still get angry when I think of Nashs stupid penalty...that was in Quebec

I really want to go with the US winning a medal, and a gold would be absolutely amazing. But if I were to bet:

Gold: Canada
Silver: Finland
Bronze: Russia

Just REALLY hoping the US can get into the Gold Medal Game somehow.

2. Canada
3. Finland (most olympic hockey medals in the last 22 years, will do it again and some people will STILL be surprised )

Russia beating Canada on home soil in the gold medal game would be amazing.
