i thought a thread regarding players that weren't supposed to last this long was a good idea. who on your team is still hanging around that you're surprised about?
for the bruins, it's definitely patrice bergeron

Barret Heisten.. He looks fabulous, he's energetic, feisty, hard working, offensive. He was the frontrunner to make the team untill Steve Ott and Antti Miettinen were allowed to show their skill. Quite suprised, it seems he really turned his career around..

I've been surprised by how long Burnett and Getzlaf have stuck around at the Ducks camp

According to an article today, it looks like Rutherford is going to try and sign Staal to get him in the lineup this year. Most Canes fans thought he would be sent back to Juniors.

Habs, Michael Ryder. He played in the ECHL two years ago, and now he's vying for a spot on the top 9, considering Koivu and Kilger are injured.

He's been in Wheeling the past two years and is a non-prospect...

I'm surprised to see Boyd Gordon get such a long look. He just might skipjack the Minors altogether.
Alex Semin also. I knew he had the talent, but the opportunity to stick and play on a top line came totally unexpected.
