To much optimism and positivity in this thread. I'm saying 5-1 Bolts. Stamkos with the Hat Trick. JK
No, in all seriousness, I think if this team as any sense of awareness, they will be prepared for Tampa pressing the heck out of them after the blowout loss on almost-national TV last time.
Redden and Girardi better not even sniff the puck in their own end. I'd rather have Lisin and Voros play defense, because I see the aforementioned knuckleheads turning the puck over like crazy when pressured.
Tampa wants revenge. I think if the Rangers can withstand the first 10 mins and score the 1st goal, Henrik will make it stand. If Tampa scores first, i expect a blowout.
The Devils have seriously been crap lately. But I do see them picking it up eventually unlike us.
it's all about Uncle Daddy...in their last 27 games, he has given up 3 or more goals in 16 of them...conversely Henrik has given up 3 or more 7 times during his past 27 games...and hes only given up more than 3, 3 times in that span, VS 6 times by Brodeur.

You would think after looking back at the past few seasons that they would give him more rest during the regular season. Nope. Leads the league in GP, and now will prob get even more worn out during the Olympics. By the time playoffs come around, he will be completely out of gas. All that travel and playing takes it's toll. Maybe if he was in his mid-20's, but he's 37. Going on 38.

yep, everyone knows my feelings on how overrated he is, but hes definitely going to struggle down the stretch if history teaches us anything.

The way the devils have been using brodeur is absolutely retarded
He has 57 starts, he finished only 52 of those games, so he's been pulled 5 times this season, all of them after December 19th.
So for the first half of the season, he finishes every game he starts, devils win most of their games. The second half, devils are losing half their games, and brodeur's getting pulled 1 out of 6 starts after letting in a load of goals. I don't understand why they don't rest him 1 out of 6 games instead of having to pull him 1 out of 6 games because he's underperforming because he's tired out.
They have a good backup.. He only really blew one of his 4 starts (and that was his only really bad game)
He's on track for a 78 start season. No team expects their goaltender to play 78 / 82 games in a season, especially one who's 37 and in an olympic year

as far as im concerned, they should make him play every single game of the season, and every olympic game
