It's unfortunate that we have to sacrifice assets because of the flawed team Sather has constructed.

Usually, guys like Dubinsky are keepers, for numerous reasons.

There's no guarantee that what we get back for him would produce either.

Atleast Dubi is young, committed, intense, and cares.

Those are some things that this organization could use a lot more of.
Look at pretty much every Ranger roster for the last 20 years we've always had one or two like that, which is fine. But like SBOB said, eventually you have to show results, not just commitment and attitude. They are admirable attributes, but ya gotta perform on the ice especially if you want to be considered 'big time' go to player.

Thank you. Seriously.

I still can't understand why people here value Anisimov more than Dubinsky. Dubi's without a doubt, the superior hockey player.

I would take Gaborik over Heatley.

I understand that this is a results business and that's why I said to Singn' I don't disagree with the logic.

I guess I just look at Dubinsky as the type of player I want here period. I don't think he should be the one getting dealt because the team is poor.

I also still believe in him improving. It might take some time but given what he brings to the table I'm willing to grow with him.

The product we're watching today, could be a very different one tomorrow.

It's no secret that power-forwards take time to develop. I think we're going to regret trading Dubi. His best days are ahead of him.

Also, Dubinsky is probably on my top 3 Rangers list (along with Henry and Callahan), but if the return was enough, I'd definitely leap for the trade.

It'd really have to be a nice deal. I don't want a 2nd liner for Dubinsky, I want to see a 1st liner or at the least a fringe 1st liner + 3rd liner/2nd pair defenseman.

This, depending on what we get in return. Dubinsky+Girardi for Weiss is not a deal I'd like to see.

BY THE WAY. I'd like to mention this.

2007-2008: 82 games, 14 goals, 26 assists.
2008-2009: 82 games, 13 goals, 28 assists.
2009-2010: 48 games, 13 goals, 18 assists.

Why are so many people so eager to trade a kid who is clearly improving? He has as many goals as he had last year in a little more than half as many games as last year. And a player who consistently gets 82 games a season is valuable too. He had an injury this year, but he was also hit by a beaming puck in the hand. Injuries don't seem to be common in Dubi's game.

From Eklund now

on the NY Rangers...

There is no question the Rangers are up to something. They were extremely active on Friday. Dubinsky is the main chip, but I have also heard Gilroy's name and Girardi. The Rangers main target, like the Canadiens is Cogliano

I don't like to trust what Eklund says, but if this is true...

Cogliano is a way bigger "what if" than Dubinsky.

Unless I see someone like Penner or Ganger coming this way I'm going blow a fuse on Sather.

Yeah, hard to believe he's made it this far with the way he skates with his head down. Poor kid's already been rocked a few times. It's only a matter of time before he goes Lindros on us.

Cogliano? Wouldn't Duby for Cogs be a lateral move for us? Hell, I might even give Duby the edge.

At least it's only Eklund...

It's without a doubt, a downgrade. Dubinsky's easily the better player.

Sather's trade record makes me think this wouldn't happen unless there's more to it.

If this were true and a straight up deal I might actually flip out.

Gagner yes but not sure about Penner. I just have my doubts about him. Career year maybe? I would stay away from him.
