Okay just read the article but that still doesn't make any sense. The roster freeze was friday at 3 pm ET. But Parse played for Manchester yesterday. What crack head rights out these rules?

You are only eligible to play in the AHL if you played a certain percentage of your games down there this season.

The rule is in place to prevent teams from sending down NHL players during the Olympic break.

Carolina had to send Jiri Tlusty down to Albany a couple of weeks ago so he would be eligible.

Thanks for the info!

I get the point of the rule but it back fires in certain cases like this...

is the cutoff 41 games?
Jamie McGinn was in the lineup yesterday for Worcester. He has played 40 games for San Jose.
Parse has played 48 for the Kings.
I heard about this yesterday at the booster club table in Manchester.
I want to hear more then just from the Manchester Union Leader on this, they have been know to be unreliable at times.

I take what ever I read in the MUL with a grain of salt, but it wasn't only mentioned there. As usual, I was at the game Sat. night listening to the Monarchs broadcaster (Ken Cail) on my smartbug radio. During the pregame interview with Coach Morris, Parse was discussed and Ken mentioned the same thing several times during the broadcast.

Makes even less sense with the info. pertaining to McGinn above.

ahhh ok. Do to a hectic work schedule my attendance at Monarchs games has been down this year, and for the same reason dont get to listen to alot of games on the radio.
Its too bad if he wont be able to get into any games, the Monarchs could use his scoring.
