I agree.. Backes is #42 who scored that sweet goal right?

I didn't realize how many fast skaters the US team has.

Indeed, was really impressed with Callahan too.

It's surprising how much of a difference no TV timeouts during each period makes. That game motored right along and felt more intense. Fewer commercials is a nice bonus.

JJ was dominant tonight. He's obviously still playing with a leash on this team, whereas in these international competitions he can run free.

Agreed, but that's NEVER gonna happen in the NHL

In fact the more popular the sport is the more commercials If you ever seen a Canadian feed of a Kings game it's hilarious how they try to throw commercials in.

I had 12 minutes to spare before a meeting and there was 5 minutes left in the 2nd and I was able to watch the rest of the period and get upstairs in that time span. I didn't realize they weren't doing TV timeouts.

Sweet game! Ryan, Backes,Callahan, Malone were forces to be reckoned with. Kane and Parise are also just ridiculously talented.

Ryan Whitney sucks. What a dumb decision that was, hopefully Gleason plays more next game, he was solid.

Brown was good, but JJ was a hound dog! Skating like the wind, GREAT passing, and keeping his coverage.

They're no doubt the favorites but I wouldn't make too much out of these initial games. Team USA faced the toughest opponent of the three. Let them work through the nerves and unfamiliarity of the system/teammates before we start to really judge the team. Remember how awful Team Canada was in the Salt Lake preliminaries before winning gold? Or how dominant Slovakia in Turin before bowing out unceremoniously in their first loss?

A lot is going to change in a short period.
