As far as I'm concerned you haven't won the cup in 43 years and we haven't won the cup in 40 years but the Canucks at this point sure do look a lot closer then the Leafs do.

First wait for your franchise to finally make the playoffs again then talk about how close you are to winning the cup.

Oh and by the way....yes I know the Leafs traded their first round pick for Kessel...I just can't wait to see what Leaf fans have to say on draft day. It's going to be even better to see the look on Burkes face at the draft
Teams with as many cups as the Vancouver Canucks:

Columbus
Atlanta
Florida
Nashville
Phoenix

There's probably more but the Canucks are keeping some pretty good company.

here's some more in that company:

Washington
Buffalo
San Jose

I don't mind the Canucks being in that company...

there's also LA and St. Louis.

I'm gonna try and stay non homered.

Hodgson is a top end prospect (Elite for the Canucks because we dont have any) and Kaberle is a great dman.

The Canucks are currently against the cap and this would not make sense. This goes against the entire direction that Gillis is trying to run this franchise.

One other thing to note is that Gillis almost NEVER tells anyone about potential trades so this obvious comes from the Leaf camp. Most likely Donut Dave.

What was Crosby if Hodgson is generational?

Maybe to some we overvalue our players, but that's because every single Leaf player is "Garbage" and "Overrated" according to many. They only get their due when they leave Toronto.

Wow. Talk about overrating Hodson. And in what world is Kaberle overpaid at 4.25 million?

everyone overrates their own players. It's always somewhere in the middle.

One thing Vancouver has to be careful of, is not waiting too long to "Go For It". They have to take advantage of Luongo while he's in his prime. They may find themselves in a position to need to trade Hodson for a run at the cup.

Definately, but they are NOT close to going for it. Chicago, SJ, Wash. Now those teams have a shot.

11 pages and people are still quoting and taking seriously an obviously sarcastic post from page 1 that was revealed as such on page 2?

Vancouver easily has the best goaltender.

Easily over Nabokov? Don't tink so. I'll give Luongo the edge, but where has that got Vancouver the past playoff runs?

Yes. Easily over Nabakov. Big Joe's criticism has taken the heat off the fact that Nabokov blows in the playoffs.

Wow Cody Hodgson is the most overrated prospect I've seen in a long time...

- He was cut in this years training camp, Alain Vigneault told the media the guy wasn't good enough to play in the NHL and didn't seem very satisfied with Hodgson (no specific quotes, just that way he talk about him...didn't praise him alot). Some Canucks fan had already labelled him rookie of the year...lol.

- Pissing match with the Canucks organisation a month ago or so...if you sport that kind of attitude before you've proven anything, what would it be like when he becomes an established NHLer?

- Back injury. HUGE Back injuries are the worst you can have, they are very hard to heal and some never recover (Eric Dazé)...every part of your body relies on your back...

Those are 3 legitimate reg flags...if anything, Cody Hodgson is actually a boom or bust prospect.

I think Kaberle is AT LEAST worth Hodgson. I have to agree with Toronto fans on this one...and I'm a Habs fan.

It's halarious that so many people believe the Burke generated hype around Kaberle. Too bad for the Leafs nobody he convinced is an NHL GM.
