Maxim Noreau

Never drafted, now leading your guys' AHL in points as a young defenseman. What do you think his ceiling is? Should he be a powerplay quarterback in the NHL in the next couple years or are the hopes not that high for him?

I honestly don't know anything about him myself so I'm wondering the same thing.

I read sometime that Russo said he will definitely get a shot next year. I think this is something were missing right now a very skilled defensemen who can run a powerplay. Right now we have Havlat doing that and it's working but would much rather see him on the half board or down low on the powerplay. I'm excited to see what he can bring come camp next year.

I was thinking we might see him this year if the Wild dump some of there ufa's at the deadline. Never know though, hope they're able to get a sense of who wants to stay and who's likely to move on.

Pascal Dupuis?

I'm sure most fans will temper their expectations with him.

I'm thinking we'll have atleast one more opening on the blueline before the trade deadline ends.

Well at least you got 2/3 right position wise.

Barker has 2 more years and is RFA. Schultz has 4 more years left on his deal. They are trying to lock up Zidlicky for more years, while Zanon/Burns have 2 and could be getting more. Stoner played a decent #6 when he was in this year. Cuma and Scandella are far better prospects than Noreau, while IMO Justin Falk is more NHL ready than Noreau as well.

Can't really see him making the Wild. We got PP d-men in Barker, Burns, and Zidlicky. That is the only role he could make the NHL in.

Trade him for a forward prospect? Package him with Harding and Sheppard for something?

Sure, for all 3 we might be able to get Versteeg. Oh wait, Bowman already robbed us once, we'd probably have to add Colton Gillies.
