Yeah, other then that, we're not trading for Hamhuis. He's not needed enough to give up what the HF'ers are wanting in return.

Either the package you've listed, or Frolov for Hamhuis straight up.

Other then that, pass.

Nashville would say no. In that situation, Nashville gets more salary, has a hole in defense they need to fill and nothing to show for it next year.

Exactly the same situation for the Kings. We lose a big, goal-scoring 2-way LW, have big hole on offense, and nothing to show for it next season.

This proposal was merely a fans appreciation for the player. There's just no way Lombardi would deal valuable assets for Hamhuis. He's good, but if we're going to part with multiple pieces, it would be for a talent such as Kaberle or equivalent.

Hamhuis is equivalent.

I respect your opinion, but I disagree. He may be in terms of cost and age to performance ratio, but Kaberle is a special player. There aren't many teams that have that type of talent on their blueline.

How about,

Franson and O'Reilly for Frolov??

Would Nashville need to add a pick?

Franson has looked way too good\promising as a rookie to ship off for a UFA forward, let alone adding to him.

Not wishing to hijack but I think Hamhuis would be ideal in San Jose which is in need of another good defenseman. Not sure it has suitable assets that you'd (Preds fans) want to make it happen though.

As a UFA next year (and with Nabokov and Marleau to re-sign as UFAs plus Pavelski and Setoguchi RFAs...) he'd be ideal as a playoff rental, especially with his relatively low cap hit.

Nashville fans need to quit being so bipolar, you hate him one night the next he's worth Matt Greene and Scott Parse? Are you kiddin' me?

I would take Scott Parse and Davis Drewiskie any day of the week for Dan Hamhuis. Those two are two guys that fly under the radar that are pretty darn good. Nothing special, but neither is Hamhuis. Just solid.
