I've been hard on Tiger but this whole reactive saga has more to do with society seeking its public heroes in the hubris of prosports and being disappointed than in anything particularly surprising or revealing happening here.
If anything Tiger is par for the course amongst peers.
The real question is why do people search for heroes to emulate in all the wrong places.
Todays narcissistic world of pro sports and entertainment is one of the least likely places to expect to find such worthy role models.
The societal compass is off as much as anything expecting to find golden edifice in tin palaces.
