Iiro Tarkki ja Ari Ahonen

In light of the success that Annti Niemi is having with Chicago this season, would either of these two goalies be likely to play in North America next season? I realize that Ahonen is a former number one pick and is twenty-eight years old, but his sub-2.00 GAA would certainly seem to merit some consideration - even with the difference between the level of play in the NHL and SM-Liiga. Tarkki has also been a workhorse in Espoo and was highly-regarded when he played previously with SaiPa.

I'm still surprised that NHL teams haven't tried to sign Vehanen. He is the man.

Ahonen, blaah.

Tarkki, hmmm.

Vehanen might be taken up in the summer,

Ahonen can't see it

Tarkki, well he has a chance.

Remember how good Tuokkola was in the play-offs last season?

Forgot about Vehanen since he headed to Russia - didn't realize he was just signed to one-year contract.

Interesting player you mention is Tuokkola. Is he as good a goaltender as his numbers would suggest or is that the result of playing with JyP?

Ari Ahonen: Might be pretty good in the AHL but doupt that he will go back there. Been good in Finland so far.

Iiro Tarkki: Has potential and size. Been quite good in here also so north-america could be an option.

+ (the one I have really had a close eye on)

Jussi Rynnäs (rookie): Has been consistent on a high level, has a lot of potential and also size. Has some little difficulties with positioning (dont know if that's the correct word) but personally I won't be surprised if makes a deal even after this season.

I would say that he is a top5-goalie in SM-liiga right now but his team infront of him is also good. Haven't seen him play that much though.
