RUS v. CZE, USA v. CAN, SWE v. FIN

Big games today let's get it on!

Russia with the Rasputin Radulov vs. Erat and the Czech Republic. 2PM CST

The biggun! The game we have all been waiting for! The game overly hyped by the Predators marketing. It's Suter vs. Weber. It's the Red White and Blue versus the team that will defect to the US if they lose.

USA VS. CANADA!!!!! 6:45PM CST on MSNBC

And another big one!

The Red Wings with Patric Hornqvist, also known as Team Sweden vs. their Nordic rivals, Finland! 10:55PM CST

The winner of the USA/Canada, Sweden/Finland game wins the group and clinches a bye in the tournament. The losers will compete to see who is the 4th seed and get's a bye. In the tourney, the top 4 teams get a game off and the other 8 playoff to see who gets into the semis.

As for the ladies:

Switzerland smacked China 6-0 and Russia beat Slovakia 4-2 in the Classification rounds. Swiss vs. Russia for 5th place, China vs. Slovakia for 7th.

USA vs. Sweden 12PM PST 2PM CST

Canada vs. Finland 5PM PST 7PM CST

Winners go for the gold on the 25th, losers fight for the bronze.

Really showed his increased maturity on that shift...passed up a wide-open net on a 2 on 1 opportunity to try to make a pretty play, then in his anger boards a Czech player straight into the legs of his unsuspecting teammate who is helped off the ice not putting any weight on his leg...

Best part about it...I believe Zinovev (sp?) is Radulov's linemate in Russia for Ufa...

Arnott had to love watching the goal celebration too when Radulov leaped into Kozlov in open ice...

I really don't, but we've got to get something for him, period ... whether that be a draft pick or something else

Can he put the puck in the net with regularity? If yes, then I want him back.

I think it was you that posted something to the effect that kids do plenty of stupid things in their lives. He made a bad decision. We all have done something stupid in our lives yet we are ready to throw a pure sniper out of town and to another team when that is exactly the thing we need here and at a decent salary. Get him back on the team, if it's not working because of hard feelings or he's not playing to the potential we need him to, then deal him.

Agreed, but you would think concussing a teammate with a celebration would be enough for him to learn. HEY! Learn to control yourself.

Suter is playing nasty today wow, I love it. His one handed knock down of Toews was great, and Weber had a monsterous check on Kesler.

Suter is +2 with an assist and Weber a -1 rating through twenty minutes...

Rads left of his own volition .... and his stupidity continues today with a dumb penalty and injuring a teammate in one move (took him two in the NHL. improvement?)

USA / Can .... whoa!!!!!!! Sadly, we face Rafalski three times after the break. Hopefully he cools down after the Olympics.

Suter and Rafalaski are out there every other shift. Erik Johnson is the only other US d-man who is playing up-to snuff for this game.

Weber is a beast.....

Our two Predator blue-liners look like two of the top 10 defensemen in this league right now....and that is not a stretch.....

Kesler's dive for the empty-netter is IMO the best diving play in hockey since Orr went for a flight after scoring the Cup clinching goal for Boston over the Blues in the 70's...

Fantastic game!!!

ok the standings right now are http://www.nbcolympics.com/hockey/st...r=m/index.html

so if sweden beats finland by less than 5 goals or even takes the game to OT, USA will be the #1 seed, SWE #2, RUS #3, FIN #4, CZE #5, CAN #6, SVK #7, SWE #8, BLR #9, NOR #10, GER #11, and LAT #12.

making the qualifiers:

CZE vs LAT winner to face FIN

CAN vs GER winner to face RUS(wow...what a quarterfinal!)

SVK vs NOR winner to face SWE

SUI vs BLR winner to face USA.

if I am correct, and I think I am, then either Russia or Canada is guaranteed to miss the medals... and the USA wouldnt have to face SWE, RUS or CAN until the finals at the earliest.

You know this for a fact? I have a hard time thinking a 20 year old in a country with some "questionable practices" did all this on his own. I have no proof of this but you have no proof of what happened behind closed doors either. Eventually the truth might come out on what really happened but when Poile made a comment that said something to the effect of, I talked to Rads, he'd like to come back but can't right now, something tells me this goes deeper than a 20 year old making a dumb mistake.

I just think it's funny that we're ready to throw him under the bus without knowing all the facts except the ones presented to us. If all the facts are out there, I'd say let's lynch him if he comes back but I think there's more to this story than any of us know about. I also think it's funny that we'll crucify a kid for a bad decision yet others have been forgiven for their transgressions.
