I want absolutely nothing to do with Brent Burns. He's had concussion issues and I've heard the Minnesota medical staff has some issues.

Minnesota's pretty thin on D, even after getting Cam Barker. I'd be surprised to see them dangle Burns for a forward at this point. Despite not having the most star studded offense, they do currently rank 13th in GF. But they're in the bottom half in GA, partially due to Burns missing a sizeable chunk of the year.

I think the Sharks gave up both of their 2010 2nd rounders in the Wallin and Heatley deals as well.

Your initial package (well the 2nd would have to be a different year, I don't think the Sharks have any 2nds).

imo there shouldnt be anymore moves unless its for a grinder. We dont have much to trade.

Clowe will be hear for the playoff run. Hes too important.

btw this should be in the deadline deals thread.

As previously stated Burns has concussion issues which isn't what any team needs, especially not SJ...I don't forsee Minny and SJ talkin trade.

at the deadline maybe a 3rd line depth forward - must be defensively good, a gritty/sandpaper player with leadership skills that can chip in the odd goal. Cup
winning experience would be nice. GM DW is happy with the team and won't give up any current NHL roster players - this is a depth player that would take the place of a prospect/inexperienced player during the playoffs, probally a rental.

During the off season we'd be looking for a top 4 defensive D player as their is some thought Blake will retire. From there it's hard to tell what the wants and needs are until the season is over...

I'd love Nolan, but I don't think a deal is possible mostly because of the cap

I deseperately hope Clowe is here for the playoffs for two reasons:

1) I think he brings a physical element that will be crucial if our opponents try to rough us up.

2) Little is 'expected' out of him after last season's playoff disappointment. Perfect scenario to step up.

We need our secondary scoring to show up in the playoffs this year - Clowe will be a key part of that.

I agree that Clowe will be here but the problem with Clowe is that he's inconsistent physically and while you may think little is expected out of him, that's not true at all. The team expects Clowe, Pavelski, and Setoguchi to step up in the playoffs. There are high expectations out of him. We'll see if he can actually step up or if he wilts when under expectations again.

I hear the inconsistency knock and can only hope he begins to find some at the right times.

As for the expectations comment, I didn't really make clear what I meant. I appreciate that team has high expectations - I said that secondary scoring was going to be key and he would be a key part of it.

What I meant but didn't explain well was that there seems to be a lack of belief in Clowe on these boards - for that reason, I hope he steps up and disproves his doubters. That's the low expectation I was referring to.
