Any relation between Olausson and the old fart in HV71?

The tournament is played in Märsta. I'll be there for some of the games at least.

I'll try to catch a game or two in Gothenburg (Tjörn), but I am not sure if I can make it...

Hehe, I was translating a line from "Varanteatern" (Skräddaren säger ...), but I guess you didn't follow that show very much

Well, actually I have not heard anyone say that Niklas and Fredrik are not related.. but I am pretty sure we would have heard something by now.., had that been the case

I did.

I guess with the handball team getting rid of Bengt Johansson and all, it slipped out of my conscience..

Am I wrong in assuming that it would be possible to construct an alternative team that would probably beat this gang?

No, you're not. There are several candidates missing from the team. Certainly some of them aren't good enough anyway but where are the SEL players?

This is a tournament where Torgny wants to try totally new players. Who can blame him for that? I think that is the right way to go... He has to test some players, although i would have liked to see Thörn, Edler and perhaps Ryno on the team.

Tommy Wargh/Niklas Enberg

Forwards:
Nicklas Bergfors
Johannes Salmonsson
Johan Harju
Christopher Thörn
Niklas Bäckström
Alexander Sundström
Tommy Enström
Jonathan Granström
Fred Wikner
Johan Dahlberg
Marcus Olsson
Johan Ryno
Robert Bäcker

Well, that looks like a pretty good team, and there are some other players (like Tom Wandell) that could also compete for next years WJC-team that you excluded. But Robert Bäcker? Is he having that good a season?

hehe, point wise I think he is doing okay (without shining).. but I have received some interesting reports about his play and progress this season, saying he is head and shoulders above everyone else when it comes to talent in that division basically. I added him mostly for fun, since I haven't see him play since TV-pucken (I think)

So, he is roughly at a point per game pace?

Don't know exactly, he is 3rd or 4th on the team in goals... and has apparently great physique (strength) now to go with his quick feet and offensive game. I guess it is pretty possible we'll see him playing tier II hockey next season.

Let´s hope so. On the other hand, it seems that tier II teams are getting less and less enthusiastic about playing juniors (just like the SEL-teams)

They will be even less likely to play juniors when the Allsvenskan gets scaled down to 16 teams.

Maybe division 1 will be alot better after this, and maybe it could be better for the better juniors to dominate and get huge amounts of ice time in division 1 instead of playing 3rd line in Allsvenskan or sitting on the bench in the SEL.
