In terms of the not allowing the "Trade Horcoff" talk. Thank god. I am tired of the no mimds phoning up with no clue about something that has zero chance of happening .

Tell that to the Rangers fans regarding Scott Gomez.

I don't have that interest. I view it like having to wade through the commercials till you get the info you want..

In the same way the best hockey viewing experience I ever had was during a CBC strike where they just televised the game and had audio from the rink and no commentating.

It was the most enjoyable hockey telecasts in years.
You & I have this in common for sure!

Id like to watch hockey on TV the same way I watch it live...but enhanced with just some help to call out the players on the ice and the simplest stuff. The color commentary and description of the play through someone elses mind...don't need it...often can't stand it.

Yeah, we should talk about Ovechkin or Crosby getting traded.
After all, Gretzky got traded.

Its stupid talk at this juncture.

Yep. People tell me well then just turn off the audio. But I love hearing all the on ice sounds and the symphony of crashing boards and clanging goal posts and skates on ice.

With HD and surround sound its all the audio I want.

Gregor's a hack plain and simple. He thinks hes god and everyone else is a peon. He thinks way to highly of himself and his views. He treats his callers like crap. Next time you tune into his show listen for how many time he says "shocked"

I like Gregor even though he comes across on the air as being a bit arrogant. The guy's actually quite humble when you meet him in person or when he replies to an e-mail. Besides, he gets a lot of callers who deserve to be treated like crap. He's got some improving to do but that's more a product of relative inexperience than anything else.

I just gave my opinion on why I like his show and why I think others do as well.

You didn't answer my question. Have you emailed him?

No. I have called him personally several times.

My issue is not with Jason. It's the discussion of completely non-sports related topics. Weddings? Weight?

What's next? Duff/Comrie?

This type of programing has me begging for the Old Man Power, Sports Movie, Joke of the Day days.

Ken Reid was all over it but I heard Corey Graham in the background muttering something about cooking chicken not really being a sport.

Compared to Calgary and Vancouver sports talk, Gregor gets a solid "D" grade. Very little content, and the off the cuff, off topic stuff is either boring or juvenile.

I listen to the whole 1260 lineup from 8AM - 5PM almost everyday. The only person I can't stand is Kyle Chase. The guy annoys me to know end and isn't very knowledgeable.

Chase is a radio novice whose hiring is a big part of why I say that Astral cheaped out when re-staffing 1260's morning show last summer. His brother Kelly played in the NHL and he's heavily involved with the AJHL's Sherwood Park Crusaders. Also his sister is married to Darren Dutchyshen. That's about it for the guy's qualifications.

I heard at a bar not sure how true this is but Chase only got that job because the program director worked for Chases dad at a gas station in Saskatchewan.

Probably very untrue.

And sadly, not even the worst source that's been used here before.

Although I don't dislike Gregor nearly as much as you do...he does say shocked quite a bit. He's also guaranteed to say "I don't disagree" 10-15 times per show.

I imagine it's hard not to treat his callers as peons because most of them are pea-brained.

Seriously, can we do away with call-ins altogether? We're all stupid and uninformed. Just tell us the products of your inside information and go away for a day.

I can't remember which station was saying it, but in England or somewhere they don't take callers as they have too many people calling in and emailing, so they went to text messages.

I don't think Gregor has this problem, but I would really like is they actually screened callers or had a delay.

Oh and "realistically" he says Realistically 10-100 x a show. Still like his show though.

A lot of these things would be less of an issue if Gregor had a credible full-time co-host- preferably one not named Brownlee (too one-note), Barnes (bad voice) or Meg (tolerable only in small doses). Stauffer's old show was noticeably less repetitive and more compelling when Mark Spector was there every day to take Bob to task as needed.

I rather have a change up at the co-host position. Each guy brings something different and having the same person I notice leads to Gregor having the same talks with that person.
