The perfect deadline the more I think about it is trading 1 of the dead contracts most likely Drury. Then get Nathan Horton in a trade, to aquire Horton it would probably take Dubinsky, Sangs and maybe a 3rd round pick. I am a big Dubinsky fan and I do think next year Duby will have his best year as a pro but he will be the price to pay for a 1st line center who is signed for a decent price. If the Rangers have any chance to compete in the next few years besides burying Redden in minors which I think is a must to compete for a cup we need a a #1 center.
I find it hard to believe that there are still some fans left that actually think trading Rozsival for Souray, say, is a bad move because were without Souray for the rest of the season and Rozsival's services would help us make the playoffs.
Do you really care if we make the playoffs? Or what the outcome is for the rest of the season? Realistically speaking, a fan should care about the long term health of his or her club. Bury Redden. Trade Rozsival. Trade Prospal. Look toward the future.
