nothing to cry wolf about yet,but the ad's have now lost 3 of 4 and are all of a sudden racked by injuries

...yablonski with a concussion-always worrisome, but for your future fighter this is especially worrisome...makes you think of how grimson's career came crashing down

...upshall evidently out for 3-6 weeks with thumb surgery, just another bump in this kid's growth..makes you worry being injury prone will shortcircuit this guys career

...segal,brown both still on the injured list

...means a team that had great depth at the frontline position is all of a sudden pushing the envelop to put out 3 strong offensive lines, they still have an awfully good lineup up front, even with harrison and toots now on scoring lines, but still...

...the retirement of matteucci, and the loss of suter for a few weeks means that for the next 10-15 games at least that campbell and this new bonni kid will see time on the third line at dman, not exactly household names for a defending calder cup champion

...finley has struggled recently, gaa average going up .4 per game and his save percentage dropping by .20 just in the last 4 games

pro-rated out over a full AHL season based on the first 27 games:

Gamache would score 48 goals, have 63 assists, and have 117 pts(to put in perspective how great a start this guy has had)

Smith and Fiddler would both score 30 goals

Haydar and Shishkanov would score 24 goals

9 admirals would score 40 or more points,ad's as a team would score 297 goals,including 108 PP goals..and the Ad's would finish 54-24-2

you can take this with a grain of salt.....but on the other pred board a guy who is tight with the Admiral team(and who has been right on obscure inside things before) mentioned that he was talking to the admiral trainer yesterday....and that Shishkanovs 'upper body injury' was a shoulder...and that it was possible it would require surgery and he'd be out for the rest of the season...this guy says they are to evaluate it this week to determine how serious and what's next

Darren Haydar was voted the AHL player of the week for this past week....3 games the ads scored 11 goals and Haydar had a hand in 8 of those(gamache had a hand in 6 of them and was a candidate himself)

Haydar starting to heat up again. It seems he had a bit of a slow start to the season last season as well. He may just be a slow starter.

finley with his new 4 game winning streak(where he's allowed only 5 goals) has started to climb in league goalie stats again...

5th in wins(16)...2 behind the league leaders
10th in goals allowed per game(2.16)...tied with lehtonen whom almost everyone considers to be the next wunderkind
18th in save %(.922)...only 4 of the guys ahead of him have played in as many games though

all in all, finley seems to be progressing...something the preds truely need to happen

Heads roll in Milwaukee after that drubbing night before last...

moschevsky released...which is possibly tied to shishkanov possibly being ready to return, but could be partly due to yablonski's ugly -3 in his first game on an Ad scoring line

ed campbell released...he was signed to be the 7th dman after matteucci retired, while suter was away..then was kept around with klein injured...he was evidently murdered in that 7-0 shellacking

burke henry,a 6-3 205 25 year old dman, was obtained on loan from san antonio(in one of those wierd AHL type deals)...was a +2 in 24 games for them this year...strange in that it's an interdivision team he's being loaned from...nyr 3rd draftee 7 years ago,who played some in the NHL last year(23 games 2g/4a with CHI)...not quite sure how long this deal is for

update on the scoring leader race in the AHL;

Gamache has now moved into a tie for 3rd with 54 pts in 38 games, having several games in hand over the leader spezza too.Furthermore he is the top scoring winger in the league by a pretty large(6 pts)margin.(spezza, cammalleri, lehoux all being centermen).Cammaleri and Lehoux's team,Manchester has already played 40 games, while Milwaukee has only played 38.

1) jason spezza(c)...42 games,60 pts(17g/43a)
2) michael cammaleri(c)..39 games,57 pts(26g/31a)
3) simon gamache(lw)..38 games,54 pts(19g/35a)
3) yanick lahoux(c)...38 games,54 pts(23g/31a)

lahoux tore up a knee yesterday and could well be out for weeks too

Gamache is currently 7th in the league in goals scored(19),3rd in the league in assists(35),first in the league in pp goals(12),and 16th in the league in shooting %(.184).

Darren Haydar has moved up to 22nd in the league in scoring with his 35 points, while Vernon Fiddler is 16th in the league in plus/minus at +16.Fiddler is also 8th in the league in shorthanded goals with 2 and 18th in the league in shooting %(.183).Wyatt Smith is 8th in the league in game winning goals with 4.

Milwaukee dominates among defensivemen in most offensive categories,Hutchinson leads with 9 goals(tied with Kronwall),while both Hamhuis and Tiley have the 10th most goals with 6.Hutchinson and Hamhuis are tied for 6th for most assists with 20 each.in overall point scoring Hutchinson is 3rd with 29(1 behind kronwall),while Hamhuis is 6th with 26 points.Hutchinson is also 14th with his +10.Hamhuis is 2nd in pp goals(5),Hutchinson 5th(4),and Tiley 12th(3).Futhermore Hutchinson leads all dmen with 3 game winning goals and is 5th in shots, with Hamhuis 18th.Tiley is 11th in shooting % while Hutchinson is 21st.

Finley is now 4th in wins,14th in gaa,and 20th in save %.

admirals now halfway thru the season after last night..

ads have 4 guys on a pace to score more than 25 goals for the year(last years leader was darche at 28)
..gamache on pace to score 38,haydar and smith 30 each, fiddler 26

gamache on pace to score 108 points, haydar 70...and 6 other guys 40+(last year the team leaders had 59 points for the entire year-darche,hrkac,haydar,this year gamache has 54 at the midpoint)

finley on pace to win 40+ games(he won 23 all of last year, and this year so far he has more shutouts,a better gaa,and save percentage)

rumor has it in Milwaukee, that three admirals are going to be named to the AHL allstar game for the west...Tiley(as captain),Simon Gamache, and Dan Hamhuis....

don't know the validity of this rumor, though i would agree this is exactly what should happen

5 games ago gamache trailed Jason Spezza by 6 points(60-54)for the AHL scoring lead....today,barely a week later, gamache has 55 points and spezza 69(spezza named AHL player of the week last week)

hutchinson now trails kronwall by 1 point (32-31) for the defenseman scoring lead, with hamhuis 6th at 27
