Dallas puts Alex Auld on waivers. Update: Now on re-entry waivers
realistically, i dont think dallas could have got anything for him. They traded a 6th for him when he was coming off a good season in ottawa splitting the starters role. In dallas he played less and was less impressive.
I like Auld a lot, I wanted him last year as insurance in case Niemi or Crawford weren't ready but it worked out. I hope he finds a home somewhere. Ideally, not in the A.

Ever notice the same goalies get sent down every time the first year in Be a GM?
Pekka Rinne (for some reason!? I never understand this.)
Steve Mason (Well, the second season in Be a GM he starts out in the minors and usually remains there all season.)
Tuuka Rask (They just call up Kevin Regan or Dany Sabourin. Don't understand this either.)
Andrew Raycroft (They bring up Schneider which isn't a bad move but Raycroft is rated decently for a back-up.)
Antero Niittymaki (They call up Helenius, Tokarski or Janus and it makes NO SENSE.)
Brent Johnson (I've seen Pittsburgh go with 67 overall Patrick Killeen over John Curry even!)
Stephen Valiquette (They call up Chad Johnson which they did in real life I believe.)
Yann Danis (New Jersey calls up Frazee.)
Jonathan Quick (Yes, this isn't always common but I've seen it. They also send down Ersberg and bring up Bernier and Zatskoff.)
I don't know, the Pekka Rinne, Steve Mason and Antero Niittymaki thing bother me the most.
He could come back to haunt the Habs for a long time.
Who said the Habs are even moving him? Heck who says if they move him they don't get something really good in return? I still think they are going to sit on him for now.
As for Auld I would think he is use to moving around at this point in time...he has played all over the place.
As a Sens fan, given the fact that Leclaire probably has more value than Lehtonen, I wouldn't have been too opposed to something like Leclaire for Auld, Prospect, Pick. Looks like he's going to get a chance after the break though, so obviously Murray hasn't considered an option like that.

In what world is Leclaire more valuable or better than Lehtonen?
Stupid move!! Turco wont be resigned in the off-season so now we will lose him and get nothing at all back....****ing brilliant!
I believe Auld is a UFA at seasons end as well, likely the Stars could bring him back if they so wished. I don't see why trading him means he won't be back, has any actually ever re-signed Alex Auld, it seems he's on a new team every summer.
Secondly, I don't really see anyone picking him up.
Yeah, the Stars must have had teams interested, but only if they were to add salary and the Stars definitely don't want that right now. Still, such a strange move...
If there were teams interested they would have made the trade. Kudos to Bryan Murray for actually getting 6th rounder for him.
I suspect the reason for this move is that there really isn't ANY market for Turco.

Considering Lehtonen has had just as many injuries, and Leclaire has had injuries caused by getting hit in the head with a puck by a team mate, and Leclaires best year was far better than Lehtonens best year, and Leclaire has played more this year and has played well other than a weak stretch... I'd say that's the world
