Andrei Kostitsyn/Benoit Pouliot back in practice

Per Habs' facebook (very reliable) and H I/O.

Pouliot was actually the first player to hit the ice.
Unfortunately, Cammalleri was nowhere to be found.

AWESOME

But why should we care? We're a mediocre team even with them after all.

Great to hear. Hopefully both Pouliot and Kostitsyn can pick up where they left off.

As for Cammalleri, that sucks. But I wasn't expecting him back this soon anyways.

Good news, thanks for the link!

So...

After the break and while waiting for Cammalleri:

Pouliot – Gomez – Gionta
S. Kostitsyn – Plekanec – A. Kostitsyn
Darche – Moore – Lapierre
Moen – Metropolit – White

D'Agostini

Markov – O’Byrne
Hamrlik – Subban
Spacek – Gorges
Gill

Halak
Price

A solid line-up imo!

-----------------

And, as soon as Cammalleri and Bergeron (our 5th best scorer btw!) are back onboard:

1a. Pouliot – Gomez – Gionta
1b. Cammalleri – Plekanec – A. Kostitsyn
3a. Moen – Moore – S. Kostitsyn
3b. Darche – Lapierre – White (Latendresse – Lapierre – Kostopoulos version II!)

Metropolit (an undersized but solid depth vet with under average even strength production), Bergeron

1. Markov – O’Byrne
2. Hamrlik – Subban
3. Spacek – Gorges

Gill, Bergeron

1. Halak
2. Price

Please, for the love of GAWD and no matter what... no more D'Agostini!

omg Mayer will be the new starting goalie! Halak has been traded!

he has good stats! should we see him in the first game back?

Note: none of the previous post is true in any way, and is completly false. No animals were harmed in the making of this broadcast.

seriously though, good to hear about pouliot and Akost, the habs will need them if they hope to make the playoffs.

As a fan, we want to see our team playing some good hockey. Any improvement to the team is welcome to have.

I have said this repetitive times, but thanks Bob Gainey for that very one last trade. At the start of the season, I wasnt really confident because I thought we were lacking a top six forward in a bad way, with SKos, Pac and GL84 struggling.

That deal really solved that, IMO. We have five legitimate, proven top 6 guys: Gomez, Gionta, Cammalleri, Plekanec and Andreï K plus two or three guys which could step up at any time in Benoit Pouliot and Sergeï Kostitsyn ( and I havent lost confidence in Pacioretty... he'll be better next time he comes around!)

Now if I could worship our defense as much...

AK should be playing with Plekanec and Cammy, not his lazy brother.

Sergei hasn't really been lazy at all lately... and I'm talking about his NHL games, not the Olympics.

I hope AKost desn't get off to another slow start, but if he does I'd be patient because he has a history of waking up and turning it on.

at the usual pace it takes him to wake up, he'll be a beast for the playoffs. If/when.

The if/when is dicey, and not just because of the way the Habs play. Some of the competitors could go into a tailspin, allowing the Habs to back into the playoffs.

SKost is no Cammalleri, by the way.

sure, being injured and all and clearly playing on an injury coming back from it, that's laziness alright. Pehaps you dont see the things he does off the scoresheet. His defensive play has been outstanding this season. His offensive game has been great too, besides the last 3 games he had no one on his line to finish plays for him. Kinda hard to rack up points when Darche(got nothing against him) is you finisher on the line. My advice, stop lookin at just stats on nhl.com and WATCH i mean really WATCH the games and you ll see that sergei contributes more than you seem to claim.

OK, he's good on the PK alongside Plekanec but he's not as good offensively as any of the top 6 forwards. Let's say he's the #7 until someone else comes along.

Thats for sure, with a healthy line up he will be on the 3rd line, but IMO he can be an excellent 3rd line player. The kid has got vision, hands, passing, quick release shot, skates well and not to mention he can be gritty as well. I trust that Martin can develop him the right away, he is still very young and keep in mind he hasnt played a full season in the NHL yet. I still feel he is easily a top 6 player in the near future.
