Yes he is ready for the NHL. I have said earlier that I think if he stays on a line with Kovalchuk he could challenge for the Calder. Too early to tell what line he will play on, but if I had to guess right now, it will be the second line right wing spot on the opposite side of Ilya.

A player has to not have played in 25 games in one year or more than 6 games in two years and be below 26. on nhl.com it mentions any
professional league. I am not sure if that includes ahl. If it does not,
then he is eligible for the calder
