Some of the girls have nice speed, they just don't have the upper body strength required. Great game so far though.

It's really annoying to hear Lamoureux pronounced as Lah-more-roo. Yeesh.

Women's hockey would be way less of a joke if they got rid of the penalty for body checking.

I'm not saying it should be super physical and hard hitting... but to allow NO hitting? Unwatchable for the most part.

I do not. Please elaborate.

Preferably with photographic evidence.

Yeah I have to agree with how soft the play is. How can you forecheck without hitting (not as hard) the person against the boards). When we got the second penalty to make it a 5 on 3, it was the American player just falling cuz she made contact with our D. The one player who has been playing amazing is Svabados. Amazing saves. Ruggiero is clearly the best player on the ice in terms of skill. Wickenheiser has the talent, but slow period for her (didn't need more, she played great).
Poulin with the 2 goals has a wicked shot (got the two goals). It's pretty frustrating when there's a loose puck, we have a break and the player can't corral it onto their stick and it goes flying to the other end. Kind of like watching Timbits hockey. Overall these teams are obviously the best and the closest thing to watching a men's hockey game (although the bronze medal game had some nice goals and some punches thrown actually), but we are not going to get away with half ass attempts to clear the zone (the reverses behind the net, brutal).

Cool. Hot? (wait, I should respect her and not ask that...but you can still answer). Did you teach her to go Ovechkin on her back protector (sticking outside the jersey)?

Poulin with another great shot. Nice save though. She just knows where to position herself, it's great to see. Only 18 years old.

Speaking of upper body strength, that was some horrible "passing" in our zone by our D and my god...you can't pass it up the ice but you can flip it over the glass....twice!

No disrespect but it's like watching 12 y.o. boys play.

That said, the Canadian goalie is good.

wow talk about disrespect. There are a few REALLY good hockey player in there.

+ It would be MUCH better if they could hit. These two teams hate each other, if they could hit, it would be a much better game.

Yes, there are a few pretty good players. But overall, execution isn't world-class wow, like say, women's volleyball in the Olympics. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

But then again, seems that execution is getting better now -- maybe just the nerves earlier in the game.
