Khomutov, Nittel, Pihlman, Voros, Janssen and Pikkarainen need to start hitting up front. Thats how you create turnovers. I think when Ftorek was telling the team to not take penalties they must have taken that as to stop hitting. There is a clean way to play tough.
Kesa, Redlihs and DeMarchi have been nothing short of horrible for the rats. Why we still have Redlihs with the team is beyond me, he can't do anything on the PP and he can't do anything even strength. Why is Cole down in the ECHL....the guy was only -1 after 14 games....he was only -3 after 37 games last year.
Why is Johansson down? Send Khomutov down for confidence if anyone. Johansson was doing great. (and has 12 points in 11 games in the ECHL. Try Magowan up in Albany. the guy is gonig to be playing in the ECHL allstar game and is a great two way forward. WE NEED TWO WAY FORWARDS. Try Tenute at the AHL level...the guy has dominated every level of hockey for a reason. He has grit and skill.
Since I am so pissed off at the moment here is what I think Albany should do.
To ECHL - Khomutov, Nittel, Pihlman, Redlihs
To AHL - Magowan, Johansson, Tenute, Cole
It would prove to other vetrens that your position on the team isn't safe.

After the Worcester Ice Cats tied the game on a buzzer beating goal, Albany River Rats forwards Zach Parise and Pascal Rheaume broke in on a 2-on-1 in overtime, with Parise scoring to win the game, 4-3.
The Rats came out fired up for this game. Rats snap their 5-game losing streak as they beat the IceCats 4-3 in overtime. Zack Parise scores the GWG in overtime and his second goal of the game. This was the Rats second win for them in the last 18 games. Good game overall for the Rats as they finally put up a win. This should give them some confidence going to Binghamton on Saturday night when they face the Senators.
Rats are now 11-24-4-5 on the season with 30 pts.

Untill the last minute Ahonen was by far the player of the game. Their 2nd goal with 1:18 left was knocked in by the players hand. That seemed to rattle Ahonen when he let in the last goal. He bounced back to make a huge save in overtime just before the goal.
