Ryan Miller guarantees GOLD on MSNBC? (Mod edit: Fake Prank Call)

did anyone else hear this? i'm skeptical it was him..phone interview, didnt sound like him imo, said slovakia had no chance, already prepping for Canada, thinks it will go like the last meeting against Canada...guaranteed a win Sunday?

i was expecting a 'bababooey' half way through it...so which one of you Canadians made that call?

Classic cocky attitude from the Americans there. It will bite them, and bite them hard.

I REALLY doubt that was him. If so he's an idiot. Americans are so arrogant aren't they?

Miller would never say that. He is too shy.

Miller's words leading up to Finland were very respectful...he's not stupid enough to say something chalkboard-ish

Why wouldn't they verify it before airing it?

Because on a whole, most of the media is easily duped.

I thought it was another Howard Stern crank call but we never got the Stern reference.

Even better....Why would NBC need to interview Ryan Miller...over the phone?

I posted this in another thread, it definitely wasn't him. Certainly was not his voice and here were some of the things "Ryan" said:

"We knew that Canada and Russia would be overrated coming into the tournament"

"We were pretty confident coming into the game against Russia, oops I mean the team that we played today"

"We don't think Slovakia has a chance to win tonight so we're just preparing to play Canada"

Way to go MSNBC, nice verification skills you got there!

I don't think it was him either, but to be fair, if the other team needs bulletin board material like that to get them pumped up for the game, they shouldn't be playing in the gold medal match to begin with.

I wonder if you are really setting up jokes on purpose or not.

How did NBC show the game vs. Finland

no offense but this reaks Canadian. They pulled this stuff in Salt Lake. Big rumour was the US girls hockey team had the Canadian flag on the floor of their locker room and was walking across it all the time. BIG LIE. It was all over the place and it got the rest of the Canadian girls all pissed off and then when it was investigated, no one knew where they heard it. yea right....

there is no way in hell Ryan Miller would ever say that.

Didn't see it, but Miller is one of the classier guys in the NHL. I know it's an overused term, but he actually is. Highly doubt this is true whatsoever.
