Take Kozlov, give us a 6th rounder in return, and i'll call it a steal for the Thrashers.

someone with no wingers(hi pittsburgh) might give up something for him

kinda hate to see him go like this after everything he's done for the franchise but you can't play guys just because you like them when you have much better options available. his career does not deserve to sit in the press box but his play this year does.

Kozlov is the same type of player as Whitney. He will garner more of a return than most are giving him credit for. Nothing too special but more than you are give him credit for

apart from the fact that he's fallen of the face of the earth this season while Whitney has been his Steady 60 plus points self.

He might not be a bad rental for LA and he could play with Frolov and Handzus.

Is he a going to be an UFA this summer?

I'm amazed that no one else yet posted the Pittsburgh suggestion sooner - right after I read the news report about Kozlov, my first thought was that the Pens would be a perfect fit for him to play alongside fellow countryman Malkin. Like most anticipate, Kozlov isn't likely to require more than a draft pick to land - especially if he's making waves with the Atlanta coach.

He may be well past his prime but, with the right linemates, Kozlov may be a key ingredient in improving the Penguin power play IMO.

His shootout skills will be worth 2 standings points from now to the of the year - someone will pay for that alone.

But otherwise, he's lost 3 steps.

Kozlov to Nashville for a 5th or 6th. Conditional on games played.

No, no. He's only good for PPs now from what I've seen. He's another Cheechoo in terms of his skating. Clouston would wring his neck in frustration.

I understand this guy is hit or miss in terms of accuracy, but is more of a rumor aggregator than "insider"

Earlier reports out of Atlanta are true; Slava Kozlov has indeed asked to be traded, Wings and Predators have interest.

Not my first choice for a deadline pickup for the Preds, but then again, he might help the horrendous power play, and is likely to be a lot cheaper than Poni or Whitney.

As of right now, Kozlov's salary would equal our entire acquisition space at the deadline, and for someone who is really SOFF (think Sykora/Satan soff), has had a horrible season, and is a decade removed from being successful in the playoffs... I doubt Shero even considers it.

I'd rather bet on Fedotenko to round into playoff form instead. At least he is physical when he isn't scoring, and got the job done for us as recent as last year.

That is of course if we cannot make an actual upgrade.

How about straight up for Peverley Mark II aka Mike Santorelli

James Sheppard? Not sure if wild fans are ready to give up on him but he seems to need a change of scenery. Thrashers probably need to add a pick/prospect/player to the deal given kozzy is an impending ufa. I'm thinking someone like Brett Sterling deserves another shot at the nhl at another team as he is too good for ahl. Or you could have Todd White back. He is another player who doesn't quite fit in Atlanta at the moment and he did have good chemistry with Kozlov last season.

Hmm....maybe for a habs point of view....with all their injuries.

Metropolit
D'Agonstini

for

Kozlov
2nd rd pick

gives the habs a player who might look good in their top 6/9 with an expiring contract, while Atlanta gets a useful part for the rest of this year in Metro, and a mid-range prospect in D'Agostini.
