I am very happy we picked him up. If he sucks for us, we let him go end of the year (UFA) and we only paid HALF of his salary this year. Not bad. Not bad at all.

If he rules here, he gets paid and is a NY Ranger and I believe things are about to turn around for them if they miss the playoffs. They have the core and if missing the playoffs, the Rangers have been drafting MUCH better lately. So we might get a high draft pick. Couple that with Tort's not minding playing Rookies and the fact that Torts also see's the error in his ways by letting TOO MANY odd man rushes against and has started to tighten it up "somewhat", Auld will be a good addition.

Nice work, NYR

This move was a no-brainer. He's a better backup than Valiquette, or Ocho Cinco at this point, and he's worlds better than Zaba or Wiikman.

They had to make this move.

Slats loves that waiver wire fodder though, gotta say...

RIGHT........Vancouver just signed Luongo for like 1000 years so that they can get Lundquist and have one of them be the backup.........makes perfect sense to me that's why they( winnipeg newspapers) are saying the Canucks are going to possibly trade Cory Schnieder since he has a high return and no chance at playing in Vancouver. If this is what "one of your top sources" is saying I'd hate to meet a NON-Top source.

Good backup. He was decent with Ottawa. Wish him the best, unless he plays against us

Pretty sure the guy is Swedish so props to him for even knowing it.

No more Valiquette as a backup (is he even there still ?) And whomever that other guy was they had.

This is a great move, really.

It stops the up and down business for Chad Johnson and really lets him develop properly.

Great move.

All I can tell you is that my source said it is bigger than it. It will all makes sense in a couple days (hint: NY and Vancouver both have interest in Mats Sundin).

...but I don't get that expression. Like I understand that its like when we in Sweden say "I heard from the jungle-drums" or something like that. But grapevine, how can you hear something from that? Isn't it some kind of plant.

look at this guy's career:

vancouver - acquired luongo, lets him go
florida - acquired vokoun, lets him go
phoenix - acquired bryzgalov, lets him go
boston - rask is ready, lets him go
ottawa - acquired leclaire, lets him go
dallas - acquires lehtonen, lets him go

at least he knows that no goalie is going to come into NY to push him out.

Acculey put on that, when he signed with Calgary, (soon to be) Leland Irving is ready, lets him go
Then for Nashville, Chet Pickard is ready, lets him go
I'm just kidding around, iunno if this is going to happen, just some speculation

HAHA! I though the same things when I saw his post. I don't think he read correctly or from the beginning or something.

Any ways, Auld will be a nice back up for the Rangers. He can give Lundqvist some extra rest. Probably their best back up they had in a few years.
