A lot of people on the main boards were very high on his offensive potential a year/year and a half ago. I honestly believe he will average about 45 points with a peak season of around 60-65 being possible once; then return to the average. I haven't see anything to make me change my prediction yet.

He will be a shut down defensive forward. He's shown that all year. He has two goals in the last two games. Lets hope that starts to pick up a little more.

I'm not expecting a Malkin, or someone of that caliber. But someone who can come out and do the job he is doing now and a little more offensive touch. That's all I'm expecting.

I'm totally fine with 40-50 pts and Selke caliber defense. Especially with is ever improving physical game.

Same. Though his offensive production is similar to Kesler's at the same age, and I won't mind if in two years he also becomes a 70 points Selke caliber player.

Bigger bodies tend to take a little bit longer to develop their offensive game. With Hanzal, he's a pass first kind of guy. I'll reserve judgement on his upside until I get to see him with more offensive forwards. Can't put up a ton of assists when you play with the likes of Winnik, Weller, Tikhonov, Sjostrom, Vrbata and Prucha. None of those guys are really considered top 6 forwards on a good team. Hanzal has looked his best this year, when he was paired with Doan.

Peter Mueller help

Hey all you Coyote fans! Just wanted to get your "updated" take on Mueller.

Do u see him stepping it up(putting it together) any time soon?

I noticed earlier he was playing with Doan and for a atleast few games seemed to be turning it on.

Id love to hear everything u have to say about him.

Thanks

There's a player inquiry thread located above filled with numerous discussions on Peter Mueller. Nothing has changed in the last week.

Matthew Lombardi

He is my favorite player. I'm from Calgary and was a big fan while he was a Flame, still a fan of him. This summer he is a free agent. What do you think will happen to him? Will they trade him? Re-sign him? or let him go to the free agency?

He's become such a huge part of this team, I'd be shocked if they let him walk

I will second that. He is a huge part of the little bit of offense this team has and seems to manage to do that while playing well in the system. It's too good a fit to let him walk.

Thoughts on Sauer

What's the deal with him? I've noticed that he has never played a complete season. I realize he's injury-prone, but is his recent injury career-ending?

Potentially. From what I've been reading whatever is wrong isn't going away anytime soon and he (as well as Upshall) may be shelved for the rest of the season. However, official word from the Coyotes hasn't been made public as of yet.

Tell me about Sir Petr Prucha

I miss the guy in blue. He was consistently mistreated by Renney (Probably for sleeping with his daughter ). But, now he's on a team playing minutes every night.

I was wondering what line he plays on and with who?
What PP unit he plays on (If he does)

And overall, hows the kid look? Still giving it all every shift? Still drawing penalties down low by his hustle? Has he gotten his scoring touch back?

He's on our all Czech line with Vrbata and Hanzal, which has largely been intact since early in the season. He does draw penalties with his hustle and gets laid out on occasion, but that hasn't detered him from going to the "tough" areas.

His scoring touch, unfortunately, has not been there on a regular basis. He gets a lot of chances, and scored a nice tap-in goal Sunday, but I think we were hoping he'd be around the 20-goal mark at this point considering the minutes he's received.

We roll our regular forward lines on the PP, so he's generally out there on one of the two units.

He's becoming somewhat of a fan favorite due to his work ethic. If someone with Wolski's skills played with Prucha's heart, he would be amazing.

I'm amazed at how Prucha is not afraid of getting hit. He's not very big, but has no problems going into the corners or hanging in front of the net. It's pretty normal to see him get knocked on his butt on a nightly basis, but he always just pops right up.

3 questions about Zbynek Michalek:

1) Can someone describe his style of play for me?
2) Do the Coyotes intend on re-signing him?
3) How much will (should) he get as a UFA.

1) Supremely intelligent, suffocating defensive defensman. Fearless.

2) I hope they give him an eight year deal. They would be be utterly inept if they didn't do everything in their power to get him under contract. The longer the better. I really, really hope he never skates for another organization.

3) Who knows? Defensive defensemen, even the elite, don't typically get mega-bucks deals. Robyn Regher makes four million a year. Ballard makes about the same. Paul Martin makes three and a half to four a year. Willie Mitchell makes three and a half. Brent Burns gets three and a half, as well. Same goes for Chris Phillips. Considering his lower profile, I would imagine that Michalek getting three and a half per year for the rest of his career, with a NMC, should be fair enough for both sides. He never has to worry about getting moved, and we never have to worry about him leaving. I suppose I'd be fine with going as high as eight years, and thirty million, even. Three point seven five million a year is not a bad deal for a guy like Z. Not for either side.

Haven't really been following him since he left the Flames, so I was wondering how he's been doing with you guys? Expecting to see him resigned? Same questions for Vandermeer and Aucoin

Lombardi

Hey, Flames fan here.
Lombardi currently has 50 points, which is a career best.
He has 16 goals, so he has a chance of setting a career high in goals, which is currently 20.
So he's enjoying a great year, his current contract which has him at a cap hit of around 1.8 million comes to an end at the end of the year.

Im wondering if you guys think the Coyotes will be able to re-sign Lombardi. Has he shown interest in wanting to stay, how much would he get in a new contract, etc.

Cheers

I hope they can sign him. I like Lombi.
Great speed, can put the puck in the net, Seems like a great guy.

They should pay him 1.8-2.6m

I'd like to believe he'd be that cheap. Not counting on it though. I think he's easily worth 3, maybe more. Young, responsible 2nd line center that still has offensive upside? I gotta believe a lot of teams are interested.

What's the deal with Tikhonov...I read in mid March that he got recalled from the KHL....did he go to the AHL from there? Because he certainly didn't go to the NHL...

Where is Tikhonov in the Yotes plans?

Obviously Mueller got moved on for Wolski, good deal for both teams...

Turris seems to REALLY be coming on with the Rampage and should challenge for a Top 6 role in Phx next year...

Boedker seems to be stalling out a bit, maybe at a cross roads...

BUT where is Tikhonov in his evolution as a Yote commodity??

Any info would be great...I know Gretz was super high on him last year...calling him the ROY etc...
