Line Combos: Today at practice

Not sure why everyone is getting all excited to see the Kost bros playing together. This hasn't worked that well in the past.

I wouldn't be so quick to tear the idea down. Although a slow start by AK since we all remember when he comes back from injury he needs many games to find his shooting, well his whole game really.

I hope it works, not holding my breath, but I will be excited when they jump on the ice together to see what they can do.

Well hopefully we can find a new home for D'Agostini in the next 48 hours. I'd much rather have Ryan White on that 4th line RW spot.

That really isn't true. Together with Lang they composed our best line until Lang got hurt. In that span Andrei has 8 goals and 15 points in 8 games. Sergei had 7pts in 8 and lang had 12pts in 8 games. They were carrying our team until that stupid game that resulted in a downward spiral.

Lets say that the Kostitsyns bros and Plekanec play exceptional (I've always thought that those 3 should be together) and given that Gomez doesn't need Gionta anymore now that he has Pouliot, I've always felt Gionta would be the perfect 3rd line player because he brings a lot of experience. I've always thought the lines should be like this:

Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kostitsyn
Pouliot-Gomez-Cammalleri
Moen-Moore-Gionta
Darche-Metropolit-Lapierre (Dags scratched or gone)

Anybody agree with me on this...

The very last guy I'd see on a 3rd line is Brian Gionta. He doesn't really carry the puck but can score in all sorts of ways when he's near the net. The Lapierres and Moores of our bottom 6 won't be able to get him the puck so he'd likely only be a energy player, and paying 5m for an energy player is a huge waste of money. He'd be on pace for about 35 goals playing with Gomez had he not been injured, why change this?

Maybe Gauthier will now make a trade to obtain a gritty bottom line player.

He can get rid of D'Agostini and Mara, even Metro in the process and no one will cry.
