Right on!!!! The US defenders were in perfect position as Crosby carried the puck across the US blue line. It was through his super effort he broke down that four man box that encircled Crosby. He out muscled Brain Rafalski for the puck. A nifty give and go with Jerome Iginla and goal. It was a special goal.

Clearly, the fact that he drove two defencemen into the corner, got the puck back, and went to the net and scored...anyone would have done that.

Crosby haters really are just scared because just as they thought they were done with people posting this:

They realize people are just going to start to post this:

oook your the greatest hockey analyst of all time... I never said he did it by himself, I said he played for his team... every win was for his team.your contradicting yourself, he gets the winning goal of the gold medal game (PPG in olympics), yet it isnt special. He doesnt show up, due to injury, in game 7 and you criticize. (lead the playoffs in goals) and in the Jrs he isnt even old enough to take his cage off and plays on the top line in the tourney and he isnt a main contributor. (6 goals 9 points in 6 games)

I thought he had a pretty mediocre (for him) tournament. But he rose to the occasion, as a player of his stature must. All's well that ends well.

Crosby played good. But he wasn't even a consideration for Canadian MVP, lets put it that way. He faced the top D from the opponents every time, and still put up a PPG. He had a hero moment, and stole the spotlight from other Canadians who did a lot more.

Yeah, but he scored the goal for the entire nation of Canada.

The other stuff he does for the city of Pittsburgh and a segment of fans.

It's the only time guys like me will cheer for him.

And it was after Canada had choked away the lead with 24 seconds left and were on the precipice of one of the most devastating losses in our country's history.

So I'd say the goal will mean something, and deservedly so.

Basically, if you can't acknowledge Crosby after this, there's no hope for you. Every criticism of his play from his early NHL career on has been answered.

Elite regular season point production? Check.
Elite playoff point production? Check.
Captain team to the Finals? Check.
Improve defense? Check.
Improve face-offs? Check.
Elite playoff goal-scoring? Check.
Captain team to the Cup? Check.
Elite regular season goal-scoring? Check.
International glory in a best-on-best? Check.

The haters?

Immutable nitpicking regardless of what happens? Double check.

For me Crosby was very disappointing in the tournament. He was hyped up as Canada's best player and perhaps the best player in the world so I guess this is why I expected more (even though I knew it wasn't the truth). He did virtually nothing after the Germany game... until when it really counted in OT.

He came through in the clutch and that really counts for something. Good on him to step up and not get discouraged. Canadians will be remembering his goal for decades to come. His name now belongs with Mario, Paul Henderson and Jordan Eberle (I'll get flak for this one).

There are 2 types of people on earth, people that suck, and sidney Crosby

Sidney Crosby is the reason why Waldo is Hiding

Sidney Crosby once bet NASA he could survive reentry without a space shuttle. He won.

Some people wear Superman Pajamas, Superman wears Sidney Crosby pajamas

Crosby can slam a revolving door

Crosby doesn't breathe, he holds air hostage

Crosby's tears heal Cancer, too bad he has never cried

If you can see Sidney Crosby, he can see you. If you can't see Chuck Norris you may be only seconds away from being scored on.

Crosby is 1/8th Cherokee. This has nothing to do with ancestry, the man ate a ****ing Indian.

Crop circles are Sidney Crsoby's way of telling the world that sometimes corn needs to lie the **** down.

Crosby is what Willis was talking about

When Sidney Crosby had surgery, the anesthesia was applied to the doctors.

Sidney Crosby ordered a big Mac at Burger King, and got one

Crosby does not procreate. He breeds.

Sidney Crosby knows where Carmen Sandiego is.

Sidney Crosby can win a game of chess without even making a move.

Superman wears Sidney Crosby pajamas

Crosby wasn't even a top 20 player in this tournament but he'll get all the recognition because of the one goal. Not impressed by his performance overall, despite what his team did.

Who knows? Maybe he'll impress by winning his second Hart Trophy by his tenth NHL season?

This isn't getting enough recognition.

True. But that says more about the expectations his talent has brought than anything.

In a 22 year old's first Olympics, he's the focal point of every opponent's defensive game plan, gives a consistent effort, plays a well-rounded game, finishes one point behind Team Canada's leading scorer, pots 2 game-winners including the gold medal winner in OT, and it's considered a mediocre tourney.

Maybe a little out of whack, all things considered.

lol. Keep hating.

Sidney "clutch" Crosby scored the winning goals in both games that went to extra time. He was ppg, 1 point behind Teows for the lead in scoring on Team Canada.

But he wasn't even a top 20 player. Sure.

Its already becoming that Crosby made 36 saves, had 432 minutes of ice time, took 39 shots on goal scored 3 goals in this game alone.

I'm not a Crosby hater but realize hockey is a team sport and realize some cannot comprehend team sports. He is the most overhyped player so with that is going to come some warranted criticism.

Id say he wasnt top 10. Sure he could be in the top 20. 6-8 Canadian players contributed more overall IMO, then you add other nations, and its tight.
