brink of gold doesnt seem that great... for me miller, I already knew about towes, demitra was unreal, and kesler bugged me, his interviews on cbc he was arrogant and looked dumb when he lost

Drew Doughty. Demitra was amazing, which is infuriating, because it shows the kind of player he can be when he tries, and has never looked close to that in his almost 2 years as a Canuck.

I love Kane, cant wait to see him develop more and more. He really really impressed me a lot with the way he hustled and created chances.

plus morrow for sure. when he was first named to the team i was thinking "steve yzerman are you ******* high". but of course he made me eat my words. morrow was great on the forecheck, had great chemistry with perry and getzlaf and was very responsible defensively.

also richards, but ive always had a thing for him

Weber and Suter.

I always wondered how Nashville was always in the playoff hunt with such an unimpressive lineup. Now I know.

Ryan Miller went from being a guy I didn't really like (as in, being a fan of his) to now being one of my favourite goaltenders.

Drew Doughty as well. I always liked him since his junior days, and it continued in to the NHL, but his play at the Olympics was simply outstanding and make me like him even more than I already did. Now, he's my favourite player.

Even though I don't like the Sabres, it would be tough to hate Ryan Miller ever again

Drew Doughty. That kid is just incredible. All the skills, makes the right decisions, good positioning. He was as good as any player in the tournament, IMO

Johnathan Toews. What a big performer. He was just tremendous in every game for Canada, great performer on the big stage.

Ryan Suter. I thought he might have been the second best D-man in the tournament. Doesn't make mistakes, plays solid, and has a little more talent physically and in the Offensive zone then you hear about.

Zach Parise. I have a whole new level of respect for this guy. A ton of skills, and one of the best work ethics on either team. Just persistent and refuses to give up on the play.

He'll tell you a lot about Toews' active stick and his big body presence.

Toews definitely went up a notch in my books.

For all future events, I think Toews is the Captain. Crosby and Doughty can be alternates. Toews is this generation's Yzerman.

this. loved toews before, he now rivals Crosby as my favorite non-canuck.

people get caught up to much in the scoring race.

this tournament cemented Toews as an elite player in the NHL.

As a Kings fan, the love for Doughty was already at near capacity.

As for players, Kesler and Parise. I knew Parise was talented and have seen him in enough games, but good grief, he is a game breaker. He has the potential to become one of the if not the best American born hockey player by the time he retires.

He's probably the last person to seek help from. You wouldn't solve your alcoholism problem by going to the bartender, would you?

As for my crushes, Crosby without a doubt. He had all the pressure in the world on him and he came through in the biggest moment. I don't care how he played before (I thought he was very good throughout). Toews is the next Yzerman. Nash can do it all. And among guys I didn't appreciate enough before, Duncan Keith is a rock.

I was thinking about that the other day, and was trying to decide myself whether I thought he was more of an Yzerman or a Sakic.

Toews and Doughty for me. I don't get to see either that often and they were both unreal.

6 months ago there was a ton of love for Toews, and me being one of those thought he was the most overrated player in the NHL..

NOT ANYMORE!

I also loved Suter and glad that he's being appreciated, especially after a hard tourney like this which he shouldered a lot of the load

Doughty because of his poise, mostly because he's 19

and it really makes me happy as a canucks fan that all you Americans love Kesler , he is just awesome. you can't win cups without guys like Kesler

almost forgot about Parise, I think he and Kesler should be alternate C's in 2014 :p.

Awards:
Doughty. He's going to win a stupid amount of Norris trophies in his career.

Miller I always saw as a "second-tier" goalie but he's definitely shown he can take his game to another level (both with the Sabres and with Team USA this year).

I'd also kill to have Kesler on my team...if there was a way to measure competitiveness in a player, he'd be near the top of the list.
