Air Canada has 3 direct flights Van - Mon and 20 connecting flights daily, plus all the other airlines. If coach Martin expects Markov to put the Habs first over Russia no way does he show leniency to Halak.

Don't the Habs play San Jose on Thursday?

Regardless, it makes sense that he'd wait there. No need for unnecessary travel

Why we have to get rid of a goaltender who's age is 24, or the other one of 21 y/o ..

Price is signed, and Halak is an RFA ..

No need to get less on the market. We are not a cup contending team.

ummm I think Coach Martin gave Markov 2 days off to rest up for his home country.

Why make Halak fly across the country to ride the pine, and then fly back across again the next day? It makes sense for him to stay there when he plays on Wednesday in SJ.

No they are both RFAs, but you're right in saying we don't have to trade one of them right now. This can happen in June.

Makes sense...Halak looked a little worn out in that bronze medal game so a couple extra days rest could do him some good...

Price is 22, and both are RFAs.

It's to back up Price in Boston. Halak will join them in San Jose. They're not making him go through six time zones in two days.

i think this is just to give halak a break, and nothing to worry about a trade for jaro...

HOWEVER, we have 24 players now on the roster if im not mistaken with mara, pouliot and andrei back healthy...

pleks-andrei-sergei, gomez-gionta-pouliot, moore-darche-lappierre, metro-pyat-moen, BGL, dagostini

markov-obyrne, hammer-spacek, gorges-gill, mara

halak-price-desjardins

thats 24...unless mara is still on IR even though hes not injured no more

If the Habs were smart they would have halak go to SJ and wait for the team rather then cross the continent 2 times in 3 days.
Hence the call up

You do understand that we CAN trade one of them after the season right?

I heard Halak wasn't going to travel from Vancouver to Boston and then, from Boston to San Jose...he wasn't going to play. He'll go straight to San Jose. They could have kept Mayer, but for the respect of the others, a Hamilton goaltender needed to be call-up.

And if there is a trade coming, we'll get a veteran back-up...

Nah, I don't subscribe to the theory that one of them has to go. Did you not consider the TDL is 3 days after the olympics?

We can trade one of Halak or Price during free agency too. The way I see it is we can hold out as long as it takes.
