Tough loss guys. I guess my man crush on Callahan has to end tonight. The kid is an animal and is pure heart and soul.

Just wanted to say great game to the USA. This was truly a "win" for North American hockey. What a game.

I thought for sure after it was tied up that we would lose in OT.

I would have been fine either way. What an exciting Olympics and good showing by USA hockey...

Crosby is probably the best player in the game today. i effing hate his guts, but i can admit hes just epicly awesome. Brodeur on the other hand....

;-)

seriously though, after watching this tournament, all I could think of is...man, it would be AWESOME to steal away Kesler from the 'Nucks. absolutely LOVE his game...i mean, love, love, love, love it.

I hate that we lost, but we sure put a scare into the canucks.

That is for sure.

Come on guys, it's not that bad. The Rangers Olympians came out unscathed for the most part. And all played great! Drury, Cally, Olli, Gabby, Henrik, congrats to them all. 3 of them won medals.

If those 5 continue their fine play,... we will be in good shape for the playoff run.

And just maybe,.. Torts has learned something with his Olympic experience. Does he get a medal also?

I'm kinda revved up, for the playoff run. With all our guys playing well in the olympics, the others getting a break to heal, and trade-deadline aproaching, I'm getting excited.

Just one thought though,... Drury played on the 3rd line on team USA. Does Torts put him back on the 4th line for the Rangers?

Great game, awesome to watch. To say it with Sam's words: USA lost but hockey was a winner.
I'm delighted Canada got the gold, although I hate the fact that crybaby had to score the decisive goal. Whatever, great tournament and tons of hockey in german (free) television. Doesn't happen too often....

I still despise 4v4 OT in the Gold Metal game. That's like them taking two players out in the World Cup Final because the game goes into extra time.

Bettman on with Boomer and Carton. He says the ratings were a 17.1.

Great rating. and that was a 3:00 game. Had it been prime time could have done perhaps a 25 or 30 even.

But wow, this loss feels like a punch in the gut. Especially going into OT. Too bad we can't see more of this team (2014 maybe, but it the roster will be a little different). They put on a hell of a show. A team that was said to be the youngest, inexperienced of the bunch. A team that noone expected to even medal. 1 goal away from the goal.

These games really opened my eyes to so many players, even those that I see often. But even more so to the Western players. It's hard to hate on any player we have seen these games. They all went out there and left it all on the ice - every team.

I have to stay off the main board threads.

The Canadian A-hole meter is redlining.

The sting has receded but damn, why did it have to be Crosby. Why couldn't Nash or Iginla or even Heatley have done it? Ugh.

Anyway, what a way to end a great tournament. I was getting phone calls and texts from people saying "now I see why you love hockey so much".

I hate it as well, but my guess is that they cant have the game go into 3 OT. I think it would have ended in the first OT with 5 v 5, but with closing ceremony, they probably cant do that.

I feel this way too. It was a tough loss for me to watch, between Cindy getting the GWG and USA coming so close, forcing the OT.. but one positive that I definitely take away from the Olympics as a whole is a newfound appreciation for a lot of USA players I never paid any attention to before. Kesler, Orpik, Miller, Kane, Rafalski, Brown.. it was great getting to see them all in action and to be able to root for a team with that level of compete & heart.

Kessel didn't seem to do much of anything though, I was hoping he'd step up as one of the top goal scorers but he seemed pretty invisible in every game I watched. Had to laugh at this:

An amazing game and an awesome tournament. I'm not sorry that the U.S. lost the gold medal game, I'm just sorry that Olympic hockey is over. The NHL, and especially the Rangers, pales in comparison.

Also, this tournament definitely opened my eyes to several players. I have always loved Parise, so no surprises there. But damn was I impressed by Suter and Kesler.

Suter is the player that we all hope Marc Staal can become. Poised with the puck, great first pass, capable on the PP point, mobile, physical. Just awesome.

Kesler is Ryan Callahan with hands. I don't think there needs to be anymore explanation on why I love him after that.

Yeah. I was seriously disappointed when I saw only 4 players a side skate out. Straight garbage. I was hoping for continuous 5v5....

I think the US wins on 5v5.

Pretty much sums it up for me.

Great to see the youngest team in the tourney come within one OT goal of the Gold. Our redemption will come in 2014, many from this team will return.

Ugh, Crosby. Guys amazing, but like Potvin, Bossy, Trottier, Lemieux, Jagr, Lindros - this guy had to also be in the same division and winning everything he gets his hands on right?

Being a Ranger fan should get you a medal or something when your times up, someone look into this for me, get an online petition started, better yet lets protest outside MSG on March 7th !
