Demitra?

I have a gut feeling that Sather is going to get Demitra before the deadline.

Not sure if you guys watched the olympics, he didn't play bad at all. Had some stellar performances where he carried Slovakia.

And offcourse him and Gaborik are best friends. UFA at the end of the season. Has a 4 mill cap hit.

Love for Demitra in Vancouver outside the olympic village? Preposterous!

Don't want to give up anything for him. He'd be a nice piece to add to a real contender. Not now. I'm only interested in trading some of our assets for long-term solutions and cap-relief

Canucks wont just give him up because they are contending. We'll have to part with assets to get him. No thanks...

All the olympics did was boost his value. I really hope we pass.

I think Demitra is a lock to sign here as a UFA as for the deadline I don't think it works cap wise as Rozsival would have to go back but yea it would make sense. Just think it's next yr

10 Years ago I wouldn't have minded it. At 34 yrs old I wouldn't really want to see Demitra here.

His value has only increased since the Olympic break and the Rangers would have to move salary else where in order to make his $4.0 million cap hit fit. If he is not traded by the deadline and has a strong finish to the season/playoffs he will get close to his $4.0 million deal he has no, but more then likely on a one year deal. Probably somewhere around $2.75 to $3.5 million for a one year deal.

Pass.

Missing two wide open nets to tie the game against Canada probably dropped his value some!

It's probably better to wait till the offseason, and if he wants to join Gabby for a paycut then sure.

look to canuck's board.

fans are not considering him as needed part. they want to may pay cut and he is first on the shot.

I wonder if GM have the same opinion.

I am telling you guys.
The best thing you can do is to sign up Demitra (maybe after Mn. Hossa - but it will not happen )

Gabby had the best chemistry with this guy.
Maybe if Gaborik was playing on first line with Demo it would be even beter.

He didn't have chemistry with him in Minnesota, and the two barely played together in the Olympics. Where does this chemistry thing keep coming from?

They'll keep him in Vancouver for a deep playoff run. I doubt Sather targets a player his age next summer when he could just re-sign Prospal who actually does have chemistry with Gabby.

He didn't have chemistry with gabby????

Did you see even one game of Minesota?

They are best friends.

You don't know about them two. How they are making jokes to each other when they are celebrating birthday.
And from where this chemistry comming from? You know. Hockey is not just NHL even if it may be shocking for someone

I'm well aware that the two are friends, and I watched many Minnesota games. Obviously the chemistry was so great that Minnesota let Demitra walk as a free agent after giving up a 1st round pick and a very promising prospect in O'Sullivan.

Sorry, but the Demitra/Gaborik experiment wasn't successful in Minnesota. I'm certainly not endorsing it in NY

By most accounts from Minnesota fans, no Pavol and Marian did not have the chemistry that was expected of them.

One would think that if they had the chemistry you allude to, that both parties would have done what was needed to be done to keep them together beyond just 2 years.

As it was, once traded to Minnesota. Pavol's numbers started to drop year over year.

Not someone that I would want to acquire for anything of importance.

What you are saying is ridiculous.

It seems you just to want have true.
Gaborik's best season was with Demitra playing on wild his last year.
Another fact is: look to gaborik's or Demitra's goals in wild.
Most of them were tic-tac-toe actions between them two.

You guys are definitely not following slovak players as I am

Then explain to me why Minnesota didn't do whatever they could to keep them together?

Gaboriks best season is the season he was actually healthy. Had he been healthy last season, he would have bested that number significantly. He's also on pace to eclipse that number this year without Demitra on his line. So assuming nothing goes wrong, he'll have his best season without Demitra.

Just because the two can pass the puck to each other doesn't mean there's some uncanny chemistry between them.

Being Slovakian doesn't make you more of an expert on players in the NHL. It might just make you more partisan.
